Quality is nice, handle is ergonomic and the metal seems extremely thick and durable. The little cap that cover the base where the shovel meets the handle came loose in shipping- but it was easily super glued in back in place.

I bought this tool to replace a very similar old one that I use a lot (it got lost in my yard)- to dig up & replant various shrubs in my yard- this tool gets down deep & loosens the root so I can pull it up easily, rather than just destroying the plant- even the ones that are too close to other plants you don't want to damage. For example, I enjoy the winged euonymous shrubs in my yard, but they plant lots of "offspring" among the irises. It's easy for me to use, & I'm not super-strong. Bought to replace a tool similar looking to this, but it doesn’t work even a third as well. The angle of the claw makes it more of a rake. My old one I could swing it down at crabgrass and clumpy weeds and it would remove root and all. It works fine for digging in beds, but even the hoe part the angle wasn’t right for me.
