  • well constructed, high quality, easy set-up
I added this universal remote to a Chamberlin Garage door with the "purple" learn button. PLEASE NOTE, read the directions a few times prior to starting as the sequence isn't difficult but can easily be done incorrectly. First time, I couldn't get the remote to connect, but it was strictly user-error, and once I read the directions again slowly and did each step methodically, the connection was super easy. One review states that you cannot close the door without adding your PIN in then hitting ENTER. This isn't entirely correct, as you actually have around 20 seconds after putting your PIN and pressing ENTER that you can hit ENTER at any time and the door will reverse direction. I opened my door with remote, and waited about 10 seconds, hit ENTER again, and the door fully closed. This is nice in case you forgot something and needed to re-enter the garage. I didn't want to use the supplied attaching hardware, as I rent my house, so I just used "command strips" to attach the remote to a covered entry porch near my front door, as rain and snow would get the unit too wet if I mounted it next to garage door. So even though the remote is at least 20 feet away from the garage door opener, it works great. 9v battery is supplied but it's a very cheap make so probably won't last a year. Overall, a very good product. ... show more

  • Don't Hold The Learn Button Down
I've been wanting to add an external garage door keypad, and this "Garage Door Opener Keypad Universal Compatible with Liftmaster Chamberlain Craftsman" looks like it will work just fine. There's a convoluted series of button pushes and combinations that remind me of when programmers used to carry punch cards around in boxes back in the 70s. Why can't there just be "Start Prog" and "End Prog" buttons with the number keys? Anyway, the important thing to remember is DON'T hold the Learn Button down for more than 5 seconds or you'll erase all key codes that currently open the garage door. Apparently, I did that because the new keypad worked fine, but none of the other remotes would open the garage. If that happens, then quickly press the Learn Button and press one of the remotes until the light blinks and it will work again. Repeat for all remotes. In fact, I'm glad I reset all codes on the opener, even if it was accidental. We recently had a situation where that garage door would randomly open and close. Hopefully resetting the codes will prevent that from happening again. Once you open the door with the keypad, you have to press the Enter button to close it while the keypad is still flashing. Otherwise, you'll need to key in the 4-digit code again and hit Enter to close the door. Of course, you can always close it from a wall-mounted control button inside the garage. ... show more

  • So Much Easier Than I Thought It Would Be
My wife (Mrs. Beans) has been asking me to replace our garage door keypad for a year ever since the lid broke off our original. I had no clue how to go about it - I thought there would be a lot of wiring to deal with. It turns out all of these are battery powered (who knew?) Long story short, this project I've been delaying literally took me less than 10 minutes. The instructions were easy, the unit fit like the original equipment and we're back in business. Buy with confidence - this is a good, quality unit. ... show more

  • No more hunting for a hidden key
This Remote Garage Door Opener Ket Pad from Lpyec worked perfectly with my Liftmaster garage door opener. I don’t know why I didn’t install one of these remote keypads years ago - it took a couple times to get the frequency connection but now that it’s connected it works great. Really like the backlit keypad when needing to use the opener at night. Also the hinged door protects the keypad from all the outside elements. If you are like me and have been hiding spare keys under flower pots or in hollow rock you need to get one of these remote garage door keypads. ... show more

  • Looks Like the Brand Names and Syncs Up Perfectly
The keypad comes with clear instructions, keypad, 9V battery, and screws. Sync process is really simple and worked the first time without any issues. Instructions are also on the inside of the flip up cover in case you toss the paperwork. Installation is a matter of 2 screws. I did not use the provided screws because I was not sure if they were stainless steel and I was installing outside. Install is simple. Put one screw in, hang the keypad, level it out, and put in the second screw through the batter compartment. If done correctly, the keypad will be firm on the wall. I installed in late-May 2024 so no idea on battery life or weather exposure. If I have issues, I will come back and update. Good luck! ... show more

  • Little flaws that make a big difference.
My 13-year-old Lift Master keypad is occasionally hesitant in opening the garage door. I got this one as a backup thinking after reading the ad copy it had all the same functions. Wrong assumption on my part. It does have most of them but lacks the ability to set a visitor code with a time limit. I know when a guest is leaving but not how many times they will use the keypad while here. This only codes for the number of uses. Also, the instructions do not tell you how to delete those unused times should a guest leave before opening the door the set number of times. It is easy to see the flaws in this method. I also like the old keypad as all the instructions are printed on the underside of the keypad lid. They are always there in front of me when I'm coding the door. This version has a separate sheet with instructions. I know for sure that I won't be able to find those in 13 years. Little things, easy to fix make a big difference. ... show more

  • Easy to setup
Same quality as the OEM model I had, almost identical in every way. Just follow the directions and it's pretty easy to setup. Also just like the old one if you have foil backed insulation and tin siding you'll likely have issues reception wise and that's why I've always mounted mine on the window so it works everytime. For less than half the price of OEM this is a great deal. ... show more
