  • Imo, not great for reading during daylight but a help for late night blue light blocking.
Color: 3 Light Black + 2 Leopard Magnification Strength: 1.0 x
I had a lot of difficulties with the coating on these lenses. There are rainbows that reflect off the rainbow coating back into my eyes off the glasses, especially if I have any bright light coming at me from the side. They always look smudged even if they are freshly cleaned, and I’m doing everything I can to only touch the frames. This is both because they seem to attract smudges and because the coating itself somehow looks smudged. For me, these are just awful for reading during daylight. I cannot yet speak to their scratch resistance. BUT there has been a very happy side effect of trying these glasses, and that is that it really does help a bit with sleep. While I was waiting on new glasses from another company, I ended up doing more nighttime reading than usual and used these glasses as a stopgap with breaks to ease my discomforts. (They still aren’t truly good for me for reading, even in low light, although they are less problematic in low light late at night than they are in bright indoor daylight/office light.) At night, I turn off regular lights and use red light reading lights, but these really can’t make up for the amount of blue light that many of us get in our windows from city lights or floodlights on garages. I have a blackout curtain in my bedroom, but it’s really not possible in my living space. I also use blue Bleblocker sunglasses for those nighttime activities where I can see well enough with them on. But unfortunately that means removing the blublockers quite often, as such dark and large lenses are really prohibitive for a lot of tasks. And I’m pretty late to put them on, simply because I want to get as many things done at night as I can... for which I need better eyesight. Therefore, I noticed a distinct benefit in having to use these reading glasses while waiting for my other glasses to arrive. As a result of this discovery, I have purchased zero magnification glasses from this same seller. I have noticed that almost anywhere else you look the blue blocking reading glasses that you can get block at most 30 to 35% of the blue light that comes in directly through the lens (never mind what’s coming in through the side). I imagine that this number is simply because of the difficulty in making a coating that maintains clarity, etc.. while the lenses that only have a 30 to 35% protection will be helpful for me when I need to read at night, I can put this company’s 0.0 on for anything else that I am doing late at night where the blublockers would impede my vision too significantly. Also, their customer service is unparalleled, so five stars for that. UPDATE: I made an interesting discovery as I’ve been testing out my newer readers that are only supposed to block 30-34% blue light. I decided to use the blue light testing card that comes with these Amazon glasses on my assorted readers from F——r G—-t. I had purchased quite a few clearance readers and sunglass bifocals because I still wasn’t 100% sure I had the right diopter strength. One of my FG’s was supposed to be a blue light blocking “e.reader” but was only supposed to block up to 34% of blue light. Using the test card with these glasses side by side and shining the light for about a minute back and forth, I discovered that the FGs performed just as well, probably a little better, as the area under them seems to be a purer white. And their lenses have high clarity. I have no idea how much blue light needs to pass through before the strip turns purple, but the card provides at least some indication that the blue light is getting blocked. With that in mind I thought maybe I should test my non-blue light FG readers. I actually don’t want to block blue light first thing in the morning, and indeed, two of my readers offered zero blue light protection as they were advertised. But interestingly, another FG reader that was not advertised as having any blue light or UVA/UVB protection performed just as well as the ones that were advertised to block blue light. And the bifocal FG sunglasses did too. So now I have more questions about how much light is really being blocked by these Gaoye glasses and by the FG ones that block the blue light. I know that they block little compared to my blublocker sunglasses (With those I can literally look directly at a device I have that has a huge blue power light larger than my hand and barely make out any hint of color). But I also know that using the Gaoye for an extended time helped my sleep. I am guessing that these Gaoye glasses should be advertised more in the 30% range (not counting what comes in from the side). But I’m still glad to have purchased some in zero magnification, given that blublockers are simply not practical to wear most of the time. Since some FG readers performed just as well on the card test as the Gaoye, I have retired my less clear 1.0 Gaoye, however. ... show more

  • Great look, Great Value, Great Colors
Color: 5-pack Mix Color 3 Magnification Strength: 4.0 x
I'm always searching for reasonable priced readers. I never think about it until a need arises and I have to pay far too much for a style I don't like and often a strength that isn't accurate. I felt like I had hit the lottery when I thought to look on Amazon. The selection was amazing. I selected the product I purchased because I have a very full face and needed a frame that would be large enough to be flattering. The specifications and pictures were extremely helpful. The selection of colors was wonderful. The strength selection was very broad in range. I was able to get the 4.0 in a style that was very attractive. When I tried them on, I didn't know which color to try first. They were all great. The frame fit my face well. It was lightweight and very comfortable without annoying hardware at the bridge of my nose. My cell phone looks larger and clearer than ever! I got compliments within two hours of wearing them. They look better than glasses for which I've paid much more. ... show more

  • Better than Sam's Club
Color: 5-pack Light Black Magnification Strength: 1.5 x
I had been buying the 5 pack at Sam's Club for some time. I wasn't a fan of those because they all broke at the inside bottom corner and the lens fell out but they were cheap and convenient. I would probably go through one a month from just normal use, but my local Sam's Club quit selling them. I am STILL on the FIRST pair of these glasses after 5-1/2 months and they show no signs of breaking or weakness. I would definitely recommend them and if I knew that I wouldn't need a stronger pair, I would buy more for that reason alone. ... show more

  • This has made a difference in my reading quality
I spend a lot of time on my laptop for work and my kindle for reading. I needed a reading glass with anti glare as the glare from both devices had started giving my eye strain. I decided to buy an anti glare glasses and chose this based on the reviews. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Have been using for over a week and have had no issue eye strain since using these glasses. One handle broke and I contacted the seller and got a replacement within a couple of days. Was very surprised and impressed with the level of customer service received. Have recommended to 2 of my siblings who are currently complaining of eye strain. It also assist in regular reading of papers. I got 1.75 strenght. An excellent buy.. ... show more

  • Great look little blur
Color: #5-pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 1.25 x
I bought these glasses so I could keep a pair at work, one buy the computer at home, one in my purse, an extra pair in my lunch backpack, one on the nightstand and a spare. Comfortable to wear and look pretty good. The vision part I am not sure of. I have to be an exact distance from my phone or computer to get a clear view or it gets a bit blurry. Now too sure yet if it is my eyes or the glasses. Seeing my eye Dr soon about it to make sure. When I am “focused” they glasses provide a clear image and the tint does not seem to affect what I see. I really thought these were nice for the price. ... show more

  • A great product!
Color: #5-pack Mix Color Magnification Strength: 3.5 x
What a great deal! Not only are the glasses inexpensive ($3 per pair) with cool and sturdy frames , but they appear to have added testing equipment (see photo) to test glasses for (harmful) LED blue light protection (look at Wikipedia). I am no expert, and I am pretty sure good sunglasses should protect against more than just blue light, but the "readers" they sold me tested very well for LED blue light protection (using their enclosed light and card). Maybe optometrists could retest any suspicious results. My wife tested one expensive pair of prescription sunglasses and they had very little blue light protection. Others were good. I have read that one risk of "bad" sunglass lenses is that they don't filter harmful rays and at the same time dilate your eyes, letting in even more of the harmful rays. Anyway a great product for a great price!! And the lenses don't distort light at the edges. ... show more

  • Lightweight-But have a Glare when doing Online Meetings or Videos!
Color: 5-pack Leopard Magnification Strength: 2.25 x
I didn't love the colors on me (but they probably look better on others and I am used to brown/black). They were lightweight and a good deal for the price. I got them because I teach online and I wanted to get rid of the glare, but it was the same-even when trying different lighting.
