I purchased this because I wanted to start doing my nails at home and save money and normal polish doesn’t last super long. I tried this for the first time and I purchased a seperate lamp because the one that came in the package was so tiny and probably would have had to do 1 finger at a time. The base coat was good, it didn’t cure it was still sticky and I let it sit under the lamp for about 2 minutes. Then I did two coats of the gel and eat coat I let it sit under the lamp for 2 minutes, and finally the top coat cured but I did leave it under the lamp for an extra 2 minutes because even when I get my nails done, they usually have me put my hand in the uv lamp for 2 minutes at least. Anyways, I did it today and I’m hopeful they last and help my nails grow strong since I had press ons before and messed my nails up from ripping them off! ... show more

I want to start by saying I bought this kit with very little knowledge. This is a GREAT kit to practice with. The light is a one finger light so you will need patience. But colors are beautiful and the application process is fairly easy. My tip. Please do research! Buy Gel X nails and nail glue to protect your natural nail. You need to make sure you are giving yourself 60-90 seconds to cure between each layer. If not cured properly it can cause allergies and prevent you from ever wearing gel nail polish again.     • Good product, long process & opaque colors are more difficult
If you are new to UV gel polish it is definitely a longer & more complicated application process than you are used to. The pros are that you get a nice, long lasting, shiny finish that helps to thicken & strengthen your natural nail. It's a little harder to get perfect edges & can chip & peel if they are too thick because you have to apply 4-5 coats. Opaque colors are much harder to get even & your color can come out spotty & mismatched. I do really love these colors though & that I can control the opacity of each one. ... show more

Let me preface this my saying my job is strenuous, I need to lift people to do my job and lift heavy equipment every shift. This is also my first time ever doing my nails so all of my mail jobs are sloppy, keep this all in mind. My nails tear super easy, so I bought this product so that I could have nails that can grow out and that look pretty. My first attempt was very thin. I buffed my nails then applied the nail polish in thin coatings and put them under the UV light under each coating. The colors are beautiful! True to color after about three coats. And with the top coat it is hard and I don’t have to worry about sticky nails! Now here is my gripe. These are advertised as polish that can stay on for 4 weeks. My first attempt didn’t last 4 days. I applied all the coats including base and top, buffed my nails, let it UV dry. They would chip at the tips of my nails. Within 4 days, my nails were plain and tearing again. No worries, I’ll try again! This time I did coats that were thicker, I could feel the heat of the lamp this time. The color is again, true and very pretty. It was 2 days in with these nails, when it started to chip from the sides and nail tip. A little frustrating, I will try again and again to try and make this product work because I would love to have my nails done all the time, but to do them every couple of days seems excessive. Color is great, the UV light is perfect and small which is just what I need, the kit has everything I’d want. I just wish it would last longer. If I am doing the prep wrong please let me know and I can rewrite this after testing some more. But for now, they start to chip 2 days in and will completely peel off by 4 days. ... show more

The coats do NOT cure, only the top coat does. They remain tacky and will smudge or knick if touched. Once the top coat is on, it’s the one that actually hardens. I was also disappointed that once I put the top coat on it made my other layers run, even though they had already been cured! See single nail photo. It ran and bled onto my skin. It was NOT like that prior to adding the top coat. I would recommend just adding the top coat in between colors to actually harden them. This is the sheer palette and this is 3 coats of just polish (not including base & top coats). It is VERY sheer. The lamp is also incredibly tiny but I made it work by curling my fingers together and having my other hand hold the lamp over them. The lamp has a USB cable that’s only a few inches long. Since I have no USB ports in my bathroom, I had to keep going into my bedroom to cure. Lame. ... show more

I got a little confused, so be aware - the base coat is supposed to be a little tacky after curing!! It helps the color gel stick to your nail better! My nails weren't curing under the light in 60 seconds, so I took an extra 20 between each coat, and that did the trick. I mean, for the cost of this vs how much a salon manicure is, I'd say this is too good to be true. Buy it! ... show more
