  • The solution to my dying PC
Style: RGB850-PRO
Man I cannot express how relieved and satisfied I am with this power supply atm. After enduring countless frustrating crashes and black screens while trying to run 3D applications and programs on my PC, I was at my wit's end. I wasn't sure what exactly was crashing it as there were no specific entries in the Event Viewer and from having an AMD RX 570, I had even gone as far as purchasing an RTX 3060 Ti, thinking it would resolve the issue, but to no avail. HOWEVER all my problems vanished into thin air once I removed my THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER 750W power supply & installed the Gamemax 850W. I was initially struggling with cable management from the previous power supply (my current PC was traded for a gaming laptop I owned actually), but the installation process was a breeze. It fit perfectly into my PC case, and the cables were well-designed and easy to manage. Within minutes, I had the power supply up and running. As I booted up my system, I crossed my fingers, hoping for a miracle – and that's exactly what I got! I basically evened out a steal of a trade since I gave someone an ASUS ROG gaming laptop with i7-4710HQ and a GTX 980m (wouldnt go for more than $300 now) for a PC rig that has a Ryzen 5 3600XT, 16GB RAM, AMD RX 570 Red Devil, hella RGB lights and it all came with a broken 750w power supply that the guy may not have known enough about, because for the value traded, he might as well have scrapped the entire potential of the rig but I got lucky on fb marketplace. Once I put in this Gamemax, it really shined with the 3060 Ti. Maxed out the percentages on UserBenchmark. Gone were the days of crashes and black screens. It was like my PC got a new lease on life. It's been a month so far, but the stability and reliability of the Gamemax PSU were immediately evident. I could finally enjoy smooth and uninterrupted gaming, something I had been longing for so long. Months of troubleshooting just to figure out it was the PSU. The power supply's efficiency and performance are much more accurate on the 12v and 5v rails as well, I know that checking voltages in BIOS without a multimeter is not usually an ideal way to measure, but the Thermaltake was showing 9.3v on the 12v rail, the 5v rail was showing 4.4 most times. With this power supply, it is a solid 11.8 to 12. The 5v stays at 5v. It provides a stable power flow to all my components, ensuring they receive the right amount of power they need without any fluctuations. The result? No more GPU-related crashes or black screens during intensive tasks. My RTX 3060 Ti now works flawlessly, showing off its true potential without any hiccups. ... show more

  • Need longer CPU cables
Style: RGB1300
I purchased one of these a couple years back and it was DOA. Ended up getting a TT 1200w RGB Supply. Well, that power supply blew up last Friday. I got a Cosair 1000w to hold me over but realized both the TT and the Cosair supplied were +80 GOLD. I wanted a better rated supply and thus I purchased this one, forgetting that I purchased it before (though thinking a different version as the previous didn't have the new RTX connector built in). Well, second times a charm. Major issue was the CPU power labels length. They were too short by about 2 inches. I had to purchase extenders which added an additional $20 to the cost of the supply. The cables are also stiff and bulky, making clean layouts difficult (not as bad as the Cosair fan cables as seen in the photo). The RGB sync cable did not state whether it supported MSI Mystic Light, but it does support it. The test adapter was also nice to have, allowing me to verify the supply was good before installing. ... show more

Recomendadisimo ... show more

  • Great Power Supply - But I Can Hear It Running A Bit More Than My Corsair
Style: RGB850-PRO
This 850w RGB power supply is performing well, but I can hear it running, where compared to my Corsair 750w RGB power supply I can barely hear it running. I do like that this one has an 80 Plus Gold rating compared to my Corsair which has an 80 Plus Bronze rating. That is why I gave it 4 stars though, since I can hear it running more so than my Corsair. But for the price, it is still a great buy since the Corsair is almost twice as expensive right now. ... show more

  • Modular and Colorful.
Style: RGB850-PRO
Pros: -Silent operation. -Modular design keeps things simple and organized. (Had every wire I needed plus a bunch extra that I didn't.) -RGB is a nice addition that gives my PC some character. (Mounted it facing downwards and it gives my case some underglow.) -It comes with a tester to make sure that it functions which came in real handy... -Wires were clearly labeled and practically impossible to get the wires wrong... (but...) NOTE: (<not a con, the PSU is pretty solid) -I messed up on the wires... It was purely human error and inexperience on my part. I did not, apparently, insert the wires right the first time... I think there might have been a 3rd. I initially thought that I had received a bad product despite the tester activating the PSU. <It was either that or the motherboard. But! I did eventually get everything going. Found out, you can't really mess up the wire installation as they are clearly labeled and only fit into their assigned slots, however, you've got to ensure that they are plugged in securely and that the GPU wire (which has a separate piece to the GPU side plug-in goes in right. <Small part first, then larger part. If you are having trouble with it, try taking the wires out and reinstalling them as you might be having a similar issue as I had. ... show more
