  • Solid fully modular PSU with high claims and ratings.
Size: 1200W Color: Black
It's been ages since I've had to deal with a power supply. My previous was a large name 1300W Platinum that is STILL serviceable to this day with many many hours on it. I believe in paying a little more for quality. This unit was slightly lighter than my old model AND a little more compact. The size of the PSU was literally just large enough to fit the screw holes of my case, which is also more than five years old (standard full size ATX). The PSU is nearly silent, especially inside a case that has any type of dampening qualities to it (mine has rubber grommets that the PSU sits on). Almost anything else in the room will be louder than this. Very pleased here. I'm running a ATI 6950XT on this (running two PCI-E cables, each to different modules on the head end), two M.2 drives, 32GB memory and a Ryzen 9 3900X, with some various PCI-E devices (Capture card, 10Gb dual-NIC, etc.). Definitely not topping out on what this PSU should be able to handle. It's been running without issue for a few days now. Prior to install, the PSU-Tester cleared it with acceptable measurements on each rail. I honestly like the flatter ribbon type cables, and found them pliable enough that I could clear corners and edges with ease. There were plenty of cables in the box. Enough to fill up all the spots! There's really very few zip ties provided, which is typical. How anyone would expect four to cover all the wiring is a stretch. Ideally we'd be providing velcro straps! As long as the claims of efficiency (and certification) are accurate and the longevity rivals what high end PSU's are seeing these days, I'd say this is a phenomenal value for the product. ... show more

  • Haunted?
Size: 1200W Color: Black
After only a few weeks with this contraption, an eldritch vibration began to emanate from its fan; the sound too awful to even describe, let alone tolerate. Soon after, it began to click, the sound like echolocation, as if seeking prey. Every ping caused light to flee from my room, terrified, as i was, that it may find them. (Its fan stopped spinning right, vibrated, and then started making my lights flicker, so I'm sending it back to be exorcised. Also I'm not allowed to have any more spirits) ... show more

  • Good value, lots of power
This comes with everything you need to power a decent-to-greedy system, and the fan is nice and quiet. No issues in my build, and it slotted right in. The cabling it comes with is very utilitarian, so if you want decorator-level stuff you'll have to add that later, but it's very sturdy.

Sceptical at first, but so far has held up and worked great in my rig. Easy to install as well.

My Rating: RECOMMENDED ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It seems like more and more gamers are purchasing Mini towers, Small Form Factor, and micro-sized PCs these days. I am glad to support suppliers that provide PSUs to the “dinosaurs” that still want and need the real estate offered by ATX and tower-sized cases. ⚠️ CAUTION: Ensure you do your due diligence to ensure this unit meets your power budget and follow proper grounding, ESD, and safety procedures when installing. The following test results are intended to reflect the PSU unit I received; your mileage may vary. My ATX Standards-based Test Results: ⚡ HEAT EFFICIENCY: Purchase the GPU needed without worrying about a power budget or a cheap PSU that overheats. I purposely pushed this unit to maximum wattage and measured the case heat using an AMES IR Laser thermometer: PSU Care steel was measured at 30C, and fan exhaust at 35C; both readings are well within the ATX Standard of 50C. ⚡ NOISE (dBA): I used the audio sensor and several DB apps on my iPhone to test ‘loudness.’ The average of the two apps is as follows: At Fan Egress: 45dBa, inside case: 39dBa, outside case: 35dBa. 35dBa was roughly equivalent to ambient room noise, making the fan noise factor barely audible with a typical vented ATX case closed ⚡ VOLTAGE ACCURACY (+dcV): ATX PSU’s (those that follow the standard) provide three three positive voltage rails: +3.3 Vdc (orange wire), +5 Vdc (red wire), and +12 Vdc (yellow wire). +3.3 Vdc is typically provided to the CPU, +5 Vdc is standby power, and +12 Vdc is distributed to the GPU and other high-power peripherals. I measured the voltages as outputs on the P4, 4-pin Molex, and miniature inline connectors using a Fluke Multimeter; all voltages were within .2Vdc, well within the IEC1000-3-2 standard. While not the best PSU on the market, it does provide a cost-effective solution for the PC builder. My testing reflects that it meets and exceeds ATX and IEC1000-3-2 standards ... show more
