After dealing with another manufacturer's 4090 that had an absurd amount of coil whine, I slogged though all of the major variants looking for a good performing, low noise card. I managed to narrow it down to three. One was waaaaay overpriced, the other appeared to be unavailable for months, so I gave this one a try. If you can ignore the over-the-top styling, there is a very potent, well designed card lurking beneath the pseudo-bling. Used it for several rendering jobs, and the fans, while audible, have a nice, lower frequency thrum that's easy to ignore. With anything under a 100% load, the fans are nearly inaudible, and generally stay at 30% speed. Temps range from 27 at idle to around 40 when putting a good load on it. At full compute it hovers around 55 @ 22 ambient. That's dang good for air in my book. I've never heard of this brand before, but I'm certainly glad I gave them a shot. Some people may not heard of Galax, but I was building PC with it’s graphics cards back in the early year 2000s when I used to call it Galaxy for easier reference sake. Haven’t seen any their products for past 7 years, now when I saw they had the 4090 out on Amazon, I did not hasitate and bought it at a good price when everyone else has raised theirs over MSRP. This card is quiet and has a higher boost than many others, comes with extra fans. It’s a winner so far and continues its legacy as a GPU manufacturer should be recognized by everyone. ... show more

No coil whine that I can hear from 5 ft away. Temps are cool under load. Anti-sag bracket is a nice addition. The card is massive. It fits perfectly well within the Corsair 5000D I ordered with it. Tested it out in Cyberpunk 2077 4k with Path Tracing DLSS Balanced and Ray Reconstruction and have to say I'm impressed. Wattage stayed around 400, not breaking 400 often. The booster fan is weird but easy to install. I haven't tried to overclocking application as I have no interest in overclocking this card within the next 4 years at least. All in all, being the closest brand to MSRP, I'd recommend this card, you're not getting some cheap knockoff with poor engineering and design. A solid card from a solid brand. Got mine last year in June. Ran fine until last month, it started randomly losing connection to the monitor, so I figured it was the HDMI cord, switched it, crisis averted. Nope. Now it completely crashes my computer. They won’t refund me. Now I have an almost $1700 paper weight.

I have always found Galax versions of cards to give the best clocks and lowest temps from any other gpu out there. The boxing is incredible and the look is fantastic as well. My Galax 1080 HOF lasted all the way to 4090 upgrade because it just overclocked so well and was able to last for 7 years for games on high graphic settings.
