  • Amazing graphics card!
This graphics card is awesome. OK, first things first, yes the price is very very high. I'm going to say this, if you plan to only game on this card then please buy the 4070 ti or lower card. Please save your money and just buy what you need. And for a 400 to 500 dollars savings, I will prefer to buy that card to play games over this card any day. Now with that out of the way I'll start to describe this graphics card. First thing I want to say, is that this is my first Galax GPU. I have always bought gpus from other brands. Now, what attracted me to this Galax card was number one the price and number two the features and appearance. It was one of the cheapest RTX 4080 at the time of me purchasing this card. And even though it was cheaper than any other RTX 4080 at the time of purchase, this card is as good or better than more expensive alternatives. First of all, the build quality of the card is absolutely fantastic. It's build like a tank. Is huge so make sure you have a big enough case with good airflow. The lighting on the card looks great, in my opinion very professional and attractive. It comes with a very nice argb stand and a very nice argb fan, if you like argb then this card is a dream for you. I'm not using neither the fan or the stand. The card is so well build, that I don't see any sagging on my Z790 Taichi motherboard. The card is perfectly straight. I'm not using the fan because it really is unnecessary for cooling and I think the card looks great without it. Comes with another cable that allows you to connect the graphics card argb controller to your MB argb controller so you can control everything from your MB argb software. And here's my only small complaint, and that is that the Galax software don't allow you to set an static light. Has a lot of cool lightning effects but I'm not a fan of having my lights flashing or doing "cool" stuff, I prefer a nice static white or red light on my gpu so I can color coordinate my whole system. But connecting the gpu to my MB argb port and using the MB software fixed the issue and complaint. I prefer the look of the card without the cable but it doesn't look bad at all with the cable well routed and tidy. Another awesome thing about this Galax card is that there is cero coil whine. No matter what the card does, cero noise either from coil whine or from the fans. BTW, the fans are super silent. This card is super silent and cool. The highest temperature I have managed to push on this card was 69 degrees. But that was a peak, during gaming is around 57 to 61 degrees celsius. And during normal desktop usage around 40 to 45 degrees celsius with no fan running. This card has been very stable, drivers as expected from NVIDIA have been very reliable and really it has been so far a great experience. I bought this card because I want to do video and photo editing, and this card is the second best card for that purpose. It's a great card for work. So if you plan to work and do gaming in your PC then this card is not overpriced in my opinion. You will be making money editing videos for YouTube or other purposes. Whatever your work is, this card will not disappoint you. Great graphics card really, I'm impressed Galax and NVIDIA. 10/10 product. ... show more

  • Big and Cool
Purchased this RTX 4080 as i was moving my 3080 into a different build. Went with this because I had a Galax card years ago when they still sold in North America. Along with discussions about the brand over the years on overclocking/gaming forums. Anyway... Yes the card is huge. My case is a Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL. The power cable touches the glass side panel. Luckily it's the flexible part where it changes to 3 leads for power connectors. I also have an EK Quantum Kinetic FLT pump/res mounted in the side bay. Due to the length of the card I had to make some adjustments so it wouldn't hit my outlet connector/tubing. I only have a 240 version of the FLT so the way it was mounted was right in line with the card. With a 360 the mounts would have been much lower and avoided the issue all together. Card runs cool, quiet and without issue. Slightly warmer in my room so after playing Cyberpunk 2077 for a few hours I see the temp bouncing between 68 and 69C. Which to me seems reduculous compared to how hot early gens of gpu's ran. Along with the fact the fans are so quiet while in this scenario. Previously I had always water cooled my gpu's due to heat and noise. Don't really see the need with this card. The only thing I didn't rate a 5 was value for money. Which I still rated as a 4 out of 5 due to the performance over the previous gen. If you are looking for a 4080 (or 4090) my advice is as follows: 1) Make sure it will fit in your case. Meaning not just the side of the card, but the power cable placement as well. 2) If you are getting a new PSU you might want to find one with native power cable support. It will look cleaner than using the adapter etc The shipping box my card was in didn't have any of the standard air pouches in it. Although the card is so well packed in it's own box I guess it doesn't matter. Actual GPU box was pristine and everything was as expected. Arrived on the day stated when I ordered etc ... show more

  • Solid GPU
A lot has been said in previous reviews that I with just repeat in short: fast, quiet, cool temp, unique design, ray tracing, low power usage, over clocks easy, stress test was great, integral mounting plate, sturdy construction and comes with a cool RGB support pillar. I bought this 2 months ago and held off review to run it through its paces... I'm not disappointed. In fact, picking this over another "Big Name Brand" card to save considerable $ is easily justified now. It's a little bigger than most 4080's but it fits just fine with a full brick cooler on an ATX mobo, (check your case size tho!). All my games are now on the highest graphic settings and even at 2750, it never goes above 69c. From my research, this is a very popular card in the East but still needs to build notoriety here in North America, so, I'm glad that I could, at least, find it on Amazon. Totally recommended! ... show more

  • The GPU looks and works amazing!
The GPU looks and works amazing! It runs things great at 1440 p and 4k and I love it. The only issue I have with this particular device is the lighting software and it was having a little trouble connecting to the rising PCIE cable. I managed to just say forget it and plug it directly into my motherboard and the lights change color and everything. After some repeating its stable and working properly as well. All in all, great GPU. ... show more
