This tea set is beautiful! My daughter is five and has a little plastic tea set but I wanted one that we could actually put water in to mimick a tea party so when I came across this product I didn't hesitate. It comes in a very sturdy case with a metal locking mechanism so it stays shut. You don't have to worry about it falling open when carrying it around. The whole set is of a really nice porcelain and the graphics on the cups and tea pot are adorable. I really love color scheme of this pink tea party set! My daughter fell in love with it the second she saw it and we have had quite a few tea parties since we got it. Be mindful that it's porcelain so if it breaks we are talking about sharp edges. I just make sure when we are using this tea set I don't leave my daughter unattended. It's also a great way to teach your young child how to properly pour things into cups. That's my daughters favorite part. We put water or juice in the tea pot and I let her pour each cup. I couldn't be happier with this tea party set. This tea set is perfect for tea parties fueled by the land of make-believe. Obviously whether a child drinks actual tea depends on the parent and there is a debate with respect to whether it can cause tooth decay if consumed by children. But this is essentially a toy and I wouldn't put real liquid in it. But be warned: this is a delicate set, so if your child is prone to throwing things, steer clear. It is an exquisite set. The gentle tapping of porcelain is a hallmark of tea-time and quality. The rainbow and unicorn decals are tempered, not flamboyant colors and seems like they will last a long time if properly cared for. If they start to come off, I will remove them all for uniformity. I think if the liquid is too hot, they may fall off, but (1) kids shouldn't drink beverages that hot, and (2) you do not clean porcelain in super hot water, which can crack it, so this shouldn't be a problem. The tiny plates, tiny cups, tiny teapot, sugar holder and creamer dish are so cute; this set really belongs in every little girls playroom. ... show more

This is a wonderful little tea set. It is made of porcelain and is complete with teapot, cups, saucers, sugar bowl, and milk pourer. The size is just right for toddlers but would say that four or five years old would be the youngest that could easily use it. In fact, it's best suited to be used with adults, since the porcelain could be breakable. It makes an ideal gift for any occasion and comes with a nice handled carrying case with spaces for each item. This beautiful porcelain tea set is so much lovelier than the usual cheap plastic set. It is extra thick, so it is also surprisingly durable. The pictures on the side of each piece are vibrant and unique but coordinated together. The unicorn and rainbows theme is perfect for my granddaughter's birthday, making an excellent gift.
