I was going to look at a furniture store to find a new recliner but then I found this on Amazon! I wanted one without an electric switch because the recliner I had had a very slow rate of reclining and unreclining, and the switch wouldn't work with my finger anymore. I had to stab it with a stylus without the rubber tip. This recliner has all the features of my old one and more. It was easy enough to assemble, although a step or two weren't included in the instructions. Be aware of the Velcro on the bottom of the sidearm covers. Stretch the cover into place then take off the cover over the Velcro and attach it to the underside of the arms, as far inside as you can so it's not visible. My arm covers were mis-identified as right and left, but it was easy to catch the mistake. It did take me more than the advertised 15 minutes to assemble but that wasn't a big deal for me. Once the assembly was done the chair looked and felt fantastic! I also don't need the extra neck pillow that I had to have on my old recliner. I do have my old cover on the chair for summer so my bare skin doesn't stick to the leather. Also be aware, as mentioned in the description, that unreclining and returning the leg rest to the bottom of the chair does take a little muscle. I still like it better than the slowness of my old one. I also love the massage feature, which others have noted, is vibration. It still feels good to me. I haven't tried out the heat feature yet because I'm always hot. I also like the rocking and swivel action that I didn't have before, as well as the cupholders. This recliner is pretty darn close to achieving that whole "tranquility and relaxation" vibe every octogenarian dreams of. I actually sleep in this chair: there's enough space to curl up without feeling like a pretzel. Plus, the recliner easily rotates a full 360 degrees, which is great for when you need to quickly turn around and spy on the neighbors. The price point for a leather recliner with cup holders is pretty awesome. You won't find a better deal. Let's talk about the massaging and heat functions. For this price the wise consumer should know not to expect a miracle cure for back pain; the massagers are more like a happy ending after a tickle fight - they're pleasant, but not exactly deep tissue work. The reclining angle is adjustable, and goes quite a ways back-- which is great for a dedicated 3-nap a day guys like myself. Don't believe the negative reviews on assembly. I found common sense was a good thing. When you assemble it, don't tighten the screws all the way until all the screws are in place. The instructions used labeled diagrams for those of us who don't read English. "Exquisite craftsmanship," is not the phrase I would use regarding the the pull-ring for the footrest, but it is certainly very usable. I'm giving this five-stars because it is an awesome chair with all the features I wanted for a well-under $300 price tag. Nice leather chair but some pieces didn't fit that great. Others made the design look cheap. The arm parts are flimsy and cupholders should come pre-assembled. They move in and out and kind of look cheap. The recline is a little too springy and not easy to put back. It needs a side release not the flimsy thing they give you.
