I used this bed to stage a home. Luckily I didn’t actually use it to sleep. The bed lacks sturdiness and is not the best quality support. It was pretty easy to assemble with 2 people and there were no missing parts. We used an air mattress so I don’t know how a queen mattress would fit.

This bed is very nice for the price. It seems fairly solid, and it was easy to put together. One of the side rails couldn't be perfectly aligned so there's a little gap in between the two pieces, but fortunately for me that's the side facing the far wall. One of the middle support legs didn't have the proper connection so I had to screw it together with some force; of course that's the leg I accidently put on the wrong side of the wood, but since it was so difficult to screw together I didn't want to risk taking it back apart, so I just put the other leg on the wrong way and used that support slat at the head of the bed where it shouldn't cause problems. So it's definitely not the type of furniture with perfect fit and finish, but it is definitely worth more than what I paid. Keep in mind that this bed needs a box spring under the mattress, which is what I needed. ... show more

I read all the reviews and decided it sounded like most of the trouble came from the bed being pushed around and breaking the center support. I added extra support to the center just to be safe. But most reviewers probably didn't have theirs long enough to find out how weak the support is on the sides too. The screws break and/or fall out, and the wooden pieces along the sides of the frame fall off the bed, causing the slats to fall as well. This first happened in the middle of the night underneath my husband while we were sleeping. It has since happened in other places when simply sitting on the side of the bed. It lasted about 6 months before the first time. We have propped the pieces up on scrap wood left over from other projects, but the thinness of the bed frame itself makes it difficult to permanently attach anything in a way that feels secure, so we have to deal with occasionally resetting the props when they get kicked down. Other than that major annoyance and occasional panic attack in the middle of the night when I think a sinkhole has opened beneath my bedroom, it's been pretty nice. It doesn't squeak or creak much at all, even nearly 3 years later. The headboard doesn't bang against the wall loudly like some bed frames either. If they made it sturdier so that the very thin boards that hold the slats up stayed fixed to the frame, it would for sure be the best, sturdiest, quietest bed frame I've ever had. And it's still trendy too. Tl;dr: If you read the reviews and, like me, decide to just take precautions based on what sounds like the weak points, be sure to add reinforcement to the sides, not just the middle! If you sit on the foot of your bed a lot, I would recommend reinforcing it as well! ... show more

    • Be Careful Assembling

I gave this four stars because I think it looks good and probably would have assembled well if I had been a little more careful. When screwing down the 4 cross pieces I got the wood screws too close to the edge of the ledge on the side pieces and it ended up splitting in some places. When I tried to move it into the bedroom the one side fell off the frame because of the split wood. Anyway, I cut some 3/4"x2" pieces and attached them onto the original edge to create a new place to screw the cross pieces into for that one side. Then I re-attached the cross pieces to the one side that came off and put a screw into every cross piece on both sides. Made sure everything was aligned and straight before I did that, so it is now much sturdier than it would have been originally. Their instructions say not to use your own wood or screws that they didn't provide - I am not having an issue with it. Anyway, the reviews complaining about it not being sturdy probably have some amount of merit - I am not concerned too much about it because it is going into a guest bedroom that will not be used that much. So, for the looks, and the price, I will give it 4 stars for the use that I have for it - not sure if it was going to be used every day. Also, the headboard can be mounted in one of two different positions on the legs, so you need to decide how far up on the legs you want the headboard - depending on how thick or thin your mattress is or if you are going to be using box springs. ... show more

We purchased this bed frame (king) for our guest room. I was a little hesitant at first to purchase this bed frame, based on the reviews, but we were trying to stick within a certain budget, so I decided to take a chance. It came packaged in one, long box. Everything was included and not damaged, despite the guys that delivered it did NOT handle it with care. The instructions were pretty easy to read and follow. They include an extra of each hardware, which I do like. Overall, it took me a little over an hour to put it together, but it was easy. It doesn’t feel extremely sturdy, but it’s not overly flimsy either. For what you pay, it is sturdy enough to feel comfortable laying on it and sleeping in it. My only complaint is that is very low to the ground. We had an ultra low Tempurpedic mattress board for our king mattress, so we used that. It’s only 2.5” thick, so it didn’t raise the mattress up too much further. The slats that come with the frame recess a little into the bed frame, so in all, the mattress foundation board we had only lifted our mattress up about 1” or so. If you get this, I would recommend having some sort of board to lift a little bit. Maybe something that could lift the mattress up about 4-5”, otherwise it is pretty low. Overall, we are happy with it and it will serve its purpose for guests. If you’re looking for something inexpensive, but still looks nice, I would recommend this bed frame. ... show more
