I like how the bed looks, it does need a longer twin mattress and thicker to come above the bottom of the headboard. We transitioned my son from a toddler bed to this and the height from the floor is perfect for that. I purchased this 8 months ago and it has broken twice. Once my three year old jumped on me sitting on the bed and the other him and two other little ones were playing and it broke. The wood supporting the slats just detaches and falls straight to the ground. We did use it as a guest bed for an adult for a few nights and my husband has fallen asleep in it before and it supports adults fine, just no jumping! I just added 4 2x4s, one under each existing piece of wood. Hoping we won’t have anymore issues. It is cheap enough, a few extra supports aren’t an issue. If it breaks again, I will be done with it. I was looking for a set of twin beds for my two daughters - but it had to be something they could grow into. This bed is it! It comfortably fits an adult and child for cuddles and naps. Sturdy frame, nice bedhead, plus some dinosaur sheets and it’s a BIG hit in my house!

Took 2 full weeks to receive a complete box. First one was declared damaged half way thru shipping after taking 5 days to ship out. I was able to get a replacement sent out faster the second time. Second one was moments from disaster. The cardboard it is shipped in is very thin for a product that weighs almost 75lbs. Once I got it, assembly was ok. Didn't take too long but the bolts and washers are just thrown together without any labeling or separation. Once I had it all together I had to get it in position. I highly recommend that if you build this by yourself, build it where you want it to end up because the sides cannot hold up to any friction from carpet. it will rack unless you lift up all of the legs off the carpet and pivot on the headboard side. I hard some quite uncomfortable cracking from mine, but I think it is ok for now. If you have a second set of hands, you should be able to lift it into position with no problems. Standard bed skirts are too small and will not fit properly and my mattress doesn't fill out the entire platform. It is too wide by maybe an inch and too long by about 2 inches. Still a very functional and affordable platform mattress frame. ... show more

*****UPDATE#2***** Had to clean up under our bed some clothes and stuff had gotten under since we have hard wood floors and was looking and one of the support legs in the middle has now broken off so if anything else breaks on this bed it's getting burned on a fire because it simply is trash! DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT buy this bed frame! And for anyone wondering my husband and I are roughly 200 lbs each so it shouldn't be a weight issue it's just very cheap materials! *****UPDATE#1***** Have had this for a while now and the center leg support broke on us and had to support it with a piece of wood until we can figure out a more permanent and better-looking solution but very disappointed in the quality of the frame and it may be considered “cheap” to some but to me it was a little higher than I wanted to spend we were on a tight budget but now having bought it and this happening I had to come back and tell you do not buy this bed go look at something else trust me! I have added a photo showing what I mean. It is pretty but not worth it and also changed my star rating on this. *****First review***** This is a very pretty frame and seems sturdy the only thing I was not pleased about was this came with absolutely zero instructions my husband had to completely wing it putting it together I came back to the listing on here and he went off the video provided on Amazon otherwise we were completely blind building this and all the hardware was thrown in one bag so there was no knowing what screw was what like a normal kit it'll have a bag with letters like “these screws are A1 these are A2” like a normal hardware kit no they are all thrown in one bag and just figure it out on your own and good luck it was worth it cause it's pretty but I can't fully give 5 stars. ... show more

    • Reinforce it or you'll be sorry

I read all the reviews and decided it sounded like most of the trouble came from the bed being pushed around and breaking the center support. I added extra support to the center just to be safe. But most reviewers probably didn't have theirs long enough to find out how weak the support is on the sides too. The screws break and/or fall out, and the wooden pieces along the sides of the frame fall off the bed, causing the slats to fall as well. This first happened in the middle of the night underneath my husband while we were sleeping. It has since happened in other places when simply sitting on the side of the bed. It lasted about 6 months before the first time. We have propped the pieces up on scrap wood left over from other projects, but the thinness of the bed frame itself makes it difficult to permanently attach anything in a way that feels secure, so we have to deal with occasionally resetting the props when they get kicked down. Other than that major annoyance and occasional panic attack in the middle of the night when I think a sinkhole has opened beneath my bedroom, it's been pretty nice. It doesn't squeak or creak much at all, even nearly 3 years later. The headboard doesn't bang against the wall loudly like some bed frames either. If they made it sturdier so that the very thin boards that hold the slats up stayed fixed to the frame, it would for sure be the best, sturdiest, quietest bed frame I've ever had. And it's still trendy too. Tl;dr: If you read the reviews and, like me, decide to just take precautions based on what sounds like the weak points, be sure to add reinforcement to the sides, not just the middle! If you sit on the foot of your bed a lot, I would recommend reinforcing it as well! ... show more
