I bought this used so that I can have a shelf to put all my tarot cards on. Overall, it meets my needs and wasn't the hardest thing in the world to assemble, but it did require tools. Maybe some people can do it without them, but for me, it made the job easier. Also, a couple of the screws were broken, but because this came used, and I was able to improvise, it's not a big deal. I actually got three of these green shelves and they seem pretty consistent. I feel like my photos don't do the color justice because it's really a soft light green, and these make it look more like a sharp yellowish-green. I do like the color. And as others have mentioned, it is a bit of a shame that the directions aren't clear about the direction to connect the shelves. I had to reference the photo that showed how all the pieces will attach as well as coming back to this page to see how the colors align in order to make sure I was doing it right (especially in those first steps for the top shelves). They're pretty decent shelves as far as having a good amount of space on each shelf, the height, and being small enough to fit in a small apartment yet actually helpful for storage. The assembly is straightforward if you have experience with these kinds of projects but I had a few concerns. I believe the biggest problem is that it gives you the exact amount of all the pieces, meaning that if some come broken, you're just out of luck. Usually for shelves there will be one extra of most pieces. As shown, I did have a couple come broken and a wooden peg that split when I tried to use the mallet. With all three, I struggled when connecting the top shelves to the bottom shelves. When connecting, the circular metal connectors (I don't recall the exact name for them) are meant to turn 180° to secure the screws. But not a single one on any of them could. It felt like I was going to break the shelf itself, or threatened to strip those connectors. So there's a small gap there on each one, and nothing I tried was able to get them to connect snuggly. That and trying to screw in those black pieces behind the shelf were the hardest parts. It was pretty hard trying to screw into the shelf with no prep hole, with the screwdriver right up against the shelf with no room to hold it well. This shelf should have been really easy to put together (especially for someone like me with a lot of experience assembling furniture), but I ended up having hand cramps a few times. All-in-all they're what I needed so it will be fine. I just have to be careful with the one that has the broken peg since that one will be less safe (especially because it's at the part that can't connect properly). I do suggest getting your own straps to secure these to the wall, especially if you have kids or pets, because they're only stable as long as it doesn't get pushed on. Edit - I forgot to mention that the wood is a bit rough around the edges. The photo shows discoloration on the green, and that part feels really rough. And that is something that was consistent on all the shelves of the three units that I bought. It isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me, but it's something that you should be aware of before making a decision. ... show more

I purchased this for my rv master bedroom as an additional storage option for clothing. It fits perfectly! It's nice and sturdy, I put it together in about 15 min with just a hand screw driver. I'm going to fix it at the bottom and back to the rv so that it doesn't move during travel, I love it so far! Only complaint - the stupid "A" "B" stickers indicating the shelves do not come off easy and in fact peel off the laminate.... even when I was careful the finish was damaged. So definitely use goof off or something similar to peel them up gently with assistance. I had to fix one goof with a black sharpie. ... show more

We ordered this piece to fit in a tiny space and hold an excess of paperback books. The size is perfect for what we were looking for but the price is a bit steep for the quality of the product. It was easy enough to put together and took maybe 15 minutes, however, the product is lying when it easy no tools needed. You absolutely need a hammer. The “screws” do not screw in by hand and instead need to lightly tap them with a hammer. The back panel does not line up correctly with the predrilled holes and I have a few of the holes on the back panel that have ripped when I was trying to pull them to line up. Luckily, it still holds together and is back against the wall so it’s not a big deal. The shelf is over priced for the quality of the product. It needs to be about $15-$20 cheaper to match the quality. We will end up keeping the product because the size works for us and its only purpose is to store light paperback books for occasional use. I would not recommend this product for constant use as it will not live through normal wear and tear of daily life. ... show more

When I say "great of the money," keep in mind that this shelf doesn't cost very much. But I'm definitely happy with the purchase. I bought 2 of these to bookend a similar cabinet (made by a different company several years ago, but apparently that black laminate is universal becasue they are a perfect match) for about 45 bucks each. Bottom line: They look good, just like in the picture. Laminated particle board. But if you step back, they look like something that costs more. I don't think it will stand up to any dings on the finish, but, if you don't move it very much, it's good. They will hold the weight of all the books you can fit in them. Assembly - 10-20 minutes. Not hard, but the locking nuts that anchor the top to the bottom didn't work as they should. So both of mine are less sturdy than they should be. But you can't tell any of that by looking at them. ... show more

I needed a shelf for my books and figures. And this was the perfect one. Although it was confusing understanding the instructions. I eventually used my brain and figured it out. And it was so worth the 1 hour putting it together. It goes great with my room. I will buy from this company again.
