The bag wasn’t packed as full as expected. A lot of the scraps were too small or oddly shaped (a lot of long thin strips) for my use and then most pieces that were large enough had holes, stains, or writing on them. Not great overall and even on sale not worth the price.

I really wanted to love this leather. I saw the awesome shades of brown, and thought that I could safely expect something similar to what is shown in the pictures on this listing, but as you can see, the box ended up containing very little usable leather. Thinking the quality and size of the leather was likely an oversight, I contacted the seller and attached the picture I'm posting here. Their reply was that no, there was no error on their part, and that this is as advertised, despite the pictures in the listing which clearly show usably-sized cuts. In fact, I'll just go ahead and copy/paste their response to my message (I'd post a screen shot but I dunno if that'd cause this review to be removed/unapproved): "This listing was not meant to have pieces large enough to make a wallet. These are remnants, and trims from our full grain skins. If you wanted a piece big enough to make a wallet we would have suggested you buy our pre-cut leather pieces. Should I send you the listing for the Browns that we offer in pre-cut pieces?" For reference, the second picture is the sorted pieces of a 6lb box of leather scraps I purchased from another seller (don't wanna name them and be thought of as a shill) at exactly the same price-per-lb that I paid for this new leather. With the leather from the prior seller, I was able to make a few wallets, and 7 coin purse-sized pouches with a lot of leather left over afterwards. The smallest piece from the other seller is easily five times the size of the biggest piece bought from these guys. So yep, I think I'm returning it, even though the return shipping costs 1/3 of what I paid for the leather. I can think of no practical use for this stuff so it's better to eat the cost and try to warn others who might be considering purchasing from this seller. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and usable pieces in this scrap lot. I got several metallic pieces, some larger brown and black squares, some beige odd cuts, and some other colors of odd cuts. The larger pieces are perfect for some keychains, coin purses, and other projects I have planned. The odd cuts will make great jewelry. Received today. Had purchased to make some earrings. Contents were nothing like the description. Most of the leather pieces were the same color. Many had stains and some even dirt. Extremely disappointed. Will not purchase again. Sending back for refund.

What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! My package wasn't packed very full and all it included was small, mostly useless strips. I couldn't be more dissatisfied with this purchase!

    • Misleading description. Only received black.

I received my package yesterday. I picked this because it was supposed to have some metallic or other colored pieces and I understood that Black was the predominant color. Black was the ONLY color I received and since it is scraps and it is no returns, I am stuck with it. The quality is nice, but it will take me a year to use that much black for earrings and other small projects. I re-read the description after I received it to make sure I didn’t misunderstand, but it clearly says that they put a mix of colors and that black and brown are considered colors. It also advertises having metallics. I ended up having to place an order with another company to get a better variety of leather. ... show more
