Description

The Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM (MM4) system includes all the same features as the Mini-Mite 3 PLATINUM but with the use of a stronger 4-stage motor turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM includes the Fuji T-70 Spray Gun that features a pattern control knob to adjust the fan size from small to large. Fuji installs the same powerful 4-stage turbine motor as used in the Q4 Models. The MM4 PLATINUM does not have the patented noise-reduction feature as seen on the Fuji Q-Models, however the noise level is no more than any other standard HVLP turbine. The MM4 PLATINUM Turbine develops approximately 8.5psi. This allows for less thinning of paints than any 3-stage model. More than enough pressure to spray all known coatings (when properly thinned) and all the newer water-based coatings. The Spray Gun included with this package is the Fuji T-70 with 1 Quart cup. The standard Air cap set 3 (1.3mm) is for the use of general purpose fine finishing. Easy to maintain. Perfect for professiol or beginner. This is an industrial-rated machine at an unbeatable price. Heavy-duty metal case with Gun Holder. Portable and powerful. The system includes the Mini-Mite 4 PLATINUM Turbine, 25ft Hi-Flex hose, T-70 Non- bleed Spray Gun with 1 Quart cup, viscosity cup, cleaning brush, wrench and 20 page user manual. What’s new in the Mini-Mite PLATINUM Series? The Fuji Spray Heat Dissipation Box Fuji Spray has designed a unique method of removing any heat build-up from the Turbine case. Excess heat is channeled to a Heat Dissipation Box located at the rear of the case. Fuji Spray Noise Reduction Covers The Mini-Mite PLATINUM Turbines are equipped with a method to reduce noise. The Noise Reduction Covers house the Filters. • Worth Every Penny (And Then Some!)
Edition: PUMP_SPRAYER
I bought this after a TON of research. This is a bit of overkill for what I intend to use it for. I am certain the Semi-Pro would have been sufficient for my current project. However, I wanted to "future proof" my purchase and would have kicked myself if at some point down the road I wanted/needed more power to spray higher viscosity finishes. So far I have sprayed latex (thinned with about 8-10% water) and semi-alkyd (Ben Moore Advanced) on a few chairs and cabinet doors, respectively. We're trying to figure out what color to use in our kitchen and I'm sure glad that I'm getting some practice with this gun prior to getting to the point when I am actually responsible for the final result. It's not hard to use or anything, it's just that there is a technique that you'll need to get used to in order to get the best possible results. Not to mention that thinning the finish is an essential and important step that is not as simple as you might think. The controls for fan shape and volume of finish are very easy to master quickly. At present, I can say this gun is everything you've read about in these reviews and everything I hoped for. It's such a useful, powerful and cost-effective tool to have around the house. If you're a wood worker or enjoy refinishing wood furniture you can get a professional result from this gun right out of the box even if you have no HVLP experience. The only difficult part I had was getting the right viscosity (I found myself adding way too much water at first which resulted in a very thin coat and runs; then I didn't add enough and the gun couldn't get any paint out--this was with the latex, the Moore Advanced is pretty thin already and needed only about 5% and looked best with 3+ coats). Perhaps I should have used the viscosity cup they provided? You think? Once I did that everything was A-OK! The great thing about buying this gun or one of the more affordable Semi-Pro models is that no matter what you will cut your finishing time by a factor of 10 over brushing at least. I have previously painted another set of kitchen cabs by hand and it took me, no joke, about 20hrs to do not counting dry times (two coats of prime and three coats of paint). It nearly killed me. With this gun I can paint all 40 cab doors and 30 drawer fronts in less than an hour once I'm set up in my garage booth. The practice doors look like they're fresh from the factory. All I can say is that these turbine systems are something special. You will be very happy with this purchase. I also want to mention that I called Fuji when I was contemplating the Semi-Pro v. the Mini Mite and the person I talked to (I cannot recall his name) was incredibly helpful. He didn't try to upsell me on the Mini Mite but he did indicate that for my intended use he thought the Mini Mite might be the best bet (he said the 3 stage would be great) since I indicated that I wanted the best quality finish and that I was willing to pay a little extra of the ROI was honestly worth it. The build quality is excellent. The ease of use is amazing, and even the beginner can get excellent results within minutes of starting. This model is powerful enough to spray latex with minimal thinning and, if the cost is not prohibitive, I would highly recommend the Mini Mite. You will not be sorry. ... show more

  • Great spray system for trim!
Edition: PUMP_SPRAYER
I bought this spray system primarily to spray baseboards and trim. I had been brushing acrylic latex enamel and was not pleased with the final finish. I was also hopeful that this could be used to spray the trim after it was installed to speed up the entire process of installed hundreds of feet of trim and baseboard. So... It took a bit of experimentation to get the right mix of thinner (water), flow extender and paint. My first mistake was thinking that flow extender would also serve as a thinner - WRONG! Using too much flow extender produces LOTS of air bubbles when I sprayed the mixture and dulled the high gloss finish. For my paint (Behr), I found that about 2.5 parts paint with 1 part water was about right for thinning and then add about 1.5 oz of flow extender to a quart of thinned paint. A little fiddling with the paint flow on the gun and VOILA, the gun laid on a beautiful smooth, glossy coat on my trim. It looks like glass and very little overspray and blowback. I masked 12 in on both sides of my trim, but the masking was clean for most of the outer 6-8 in. No "fog" in the room. Cleanup is fairly quick and easy. Once you empty the cup of any remaining product and give it a decent rinse, fill it with clean water (or appropriate for your finish) and spray til the cup is empty into a waste bucket. Give the cup, the intake tube and cup gasket a good rinse and wipe. Clean up any finish on the air nozzle and you're done. The gun seems to be well made and comfortable to use. One thing I found is that with the cup below the gun, it does limit how close you can get to spray things that are near the floor (like baseboards). I would recommend getting the gravity feed gun instead if you are going to spray much baseboard. I balked a bit at the price, but now that the money is spent, I am very happy with the spray system and think it is worth every penny. I would recommend the 6 ft whip hose as an accessory, it is not super flexible, but definitely lighter and more flexible than the main hose which is pretty much a nice rubber garden hose. ... show more
