I have never put together a piece of furniture by myself, but I was able to with this. It’s made of wood so feels sturdier than engineered wood products. I thought the directions were relatively easy to follow. Pay attention to the beveled edges on the shelves. They matter. All the parts were there though the labeling was not great. Some of the holes were not lined up correctly, but I just nailed certain pieces instead of using the dowels. It’s great for a small kitchen. ... show more

Update: We have had these 3 sets of cupboards for about 3 months now and 3 of the shelves have fallen out of place because the cheap, plastic rods holding them in are exactly like - cheap. If they made nice, solid wooden rods to go into the holes or better yet had a way to screw in all of the shelves to the main frame, instead of just 1 shelf then I would love these. But, we spent $17 getting new, stronger metal rods because we're tired of dealing with them breaking. Without this major oversight, I would keep the 5-star review, but because they went cheap on the pegs required to hold up most of the shelves, I'm lowering my review down to 4-stars. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - These cupboards are relatively easy to put together. I took 1.5 hours to put one together, with my young children interrupting. My husband took 2 hours to put 2 of them together, without the children interrupting. So 3.5 hours to build 3 of them. We had downsized from a very large kitchen in one house that was 2300 sq ft, to a smaller kitchen in a smaller house that is 1630 sq ft. It has been a difficult transition, but these helped a lot! I like the slight woodsy smell; it's still around nearly 3 weeks after opening them from the boxes and building them. Their size is great for our space, although I do wish they were a hair deeper (1-2" more in depth)... We had to take the knob off our average size crockpot to fit it inside one of them, and we could not fit our insta-pots in them. But, many other things for, including games in one of them. I'll attach some pictures so you get an idea of what they look like raw (we didn't paint ours), and also to show what they can hold. For narrower spaces, these are great! They'd fit inside tall closets too. Overall, I'm very satisfied and if need be we might order a 4th one. All the pieces were well made and had an assembly that worked well with the instructions and pieces provided. There could be more small nails for installing the backing... My husband took additional nails that we had here at home, measured and hammered them into the backing where the one shelf that screws into the cupboards to secure their framing is located. The instructions just show to nail the backing around the perimeter, but nailing it into the screwed-in shelf adds additional likelihood that it won't detach, since the backing is the only non-wood piece. The backing is the strongest backing I've seen, and if it remains secured I'm sure it will last a long time. We also used the parts (included) to secure the cupboards into our walls since we have young children and don't want them tipping over on them. Overall, I can definitely recommend these cupboards; I only wish they were cheaper. However, given the current market pricing, they are pretty fairly priced. I wanted something that was solid wood, but on the less expensive side. This fits the bill. The back is not wood, but I don't care (plus you get what you pay for). It was a little tricky to put together myself, but it was mostly operater error. Including fixing my mistakes it took a little over an hour. The finished product looks great. I used different door knobs as I didn't care for the included ones. It was exactly what I was looking for and I'm extremely satisfied it! ... show more

    • Real wood, not MDF
I most like that this is actual wood, not that reconstituted, formadehyde-treated, cancer-causing MDF that is pretty much everywhere. Real wood is getting hard to find for a reasonable price. I didn't have any difficulty putting it together; had the TV on for some background noise and finished it in about an hour or so. One tip I want to share, because I have a family member who is...shall we say, a smidge careless about putting away canned goods or jars of spaghetti sauce (i.e., slamming them down like they owe them money vs. placing them carefully on the shelf), so after a month or two of this, two of the shelves fell. Note: it wasn't the shelves that broke--again, actual wood--it was the plastic pegs they were held up by. I do not blame the manufacturer for that at all because they weren't counting on the level of recklessness you see in a preteen trying to put pantry goods away as fast as he can so he can play online games maybe ten or twenty seconds sooner. So, I found some other shelf pegs and reinforced under the shelves with a hefty helping of JB Weld. It's been two years and no problems since; and again, this is with at least one family member who is (despite all injunctions, reminders and outright threats to stop slamming things down), still actively on a mission to break it. Anyway, I do love these. To avoid any problems, just smoosh a little JB Weld under each of the peg holes once the shelves are in place. But that's only necessary if you have a reckless preteen at your house, too. I loved this cabinet so much I ordered another one. I love the look and smell of the natural wood and they really are perfect for a kitchen space. ... show more

We were looking for a cabinet for our bathroom. Something that would hold towels, hair supplies and the like. This was it. We wanted “real” wood” and the price was pretty decent. My husband, virtually on his own, put most of it together by himself. He primed and then painted all of the individual pieces first. It took two coats of cabinet paint. Assembly went pretty smooth with the only hang up being the hinges for the doors were a little confusing but he figured it out. All total, just for assembly, not counting the painting he said it was about an hour and a half. It looks great in our bathroom and we are both very pleased. ... show more

    • Doors are very difficult to get level
Great cabinet , made of pine wood . But those doors took me 4-5 hours just to get level . The directions do not help much at all !!!! I have a lot of experience putting furniture together, this was easy u til the doors went on ! Not sure if they will ever not gray the bottom ! Bummer !
