This pump is so powerful I actually had to turn it down to the lowest setting (love that there's settings) and it's so quiet it cannot be heard over the falling water, which is also pretty quiet. This was exactly what I needed to set up a 50 gallon shallow tub for filtered water in my dog yard!

Although this works well The electric plug has no ground prong. This lack of a ground may make it unsafe and risky for shock. Beware of your application or set up because of this. I didn't notice this in the picture because I thought all pond pumps had to have a ground as they are submerged in water for safely reasons. When I went to use it I noticed and it was to late to return it so I'll keep it on hand only as a backup in case my other pump gives up until I can replace with a PROPERLY GROUNDED unit. ... show more

We have an aquascape waterfall pond and this was a perfect fit without any adaptations. I thought I would need to use some tubing or something to get it to fit into the hole to pump the water out of the top, but it fit right in almost perfectly and it smoothly pumps water up into the top waterfall tank. I was a little concerned it would be too powerful, but the added power is actually smoother than the old pump. Also, this is much safer for fish and easier to clean crud and junk out.
