Am now on unit #2 of this counter ice maker (the first one lasted 11 months to the day) and yes, it's a five star piece of garbage, but worthy of my investment. Why? Allow me to explain. In my experience in these days of cheaply made products originating from CHI-NA, ALL residential grade ice makers, whether integrated into a fridge or not, are absolute trash, hands down IMHO. The only way that I'm aware of to get a decent ice maker is to invest in a commercial grade unit which is by no means practical for most folks (especially with inflation and the cost of living being what it is). So, have resigned myself to the notion that if my wife and are are going to enjoy the luxury of having a ready supply of ice on hand at home, will be purchasing one of these units pretty much on a yearly basis. I "like" this one because it's reasonably priced (won't break the bank), easy to maintain, quiet and it makes ice like there's no tomorrow until it doesn't (which is exactly what happened to the very same unit I purchased last year). And, since they are NOT worth repairing, will run this one until it craps out and get another piece of junk God willing of course. ... show more

I mean its great! Really, it is. Makes ice pretty quick, think its like 8 min? Maybe less. Makes sound to! I mean, louder than the dishwasher loud. Its great, if you are into that late at night. So my wife got this and its perfect for her. The real issue is that this thing has no way to keep the ice cold. So you can make a full "basket" of ice. The water level will drop and it will auto-shutdown. Great, until the ice melts and the water level is back up ... and then "GrRrrrRRrrRRRrrrr!" Hate this loud A machine. Makes ice, drains water, ice melts..... cycle cycle. The ice melts pretty quick and refreezes in the freezer making big ice blocks. Can i count the bashing of the ice to break it apart part of the noise the machine makes... or just causes? ... show more

Received & is working fine. The ice is a little harder to chew unless you let it melt a little. Big Note- the ice machine is too small for more than 2 people at a time. You would have to sit on it & feed water constantly to use for a big dinner or party. For a couple it's fine. The basket size & water hold are in same compartment so very small capacity & it melts quickly where the basket meets the water. ... show more

I received my ice maker today and have had it on and making ice for a couple of hours so far! It’s not making piles of ice but enough to replenish my drink and chew on some ice too!! Before now I had been relying on ice melting enough to get soft so it was chewable until my husband found this on TikTok!! So grateful he did because now I csn cut out the melting phase and just go from ice maker to mouth! lol. It’s not quite Sonic fast food ice… but pretty dang good compared to other ice makers Les than $300 out there!! I’ve probably tried them btw!! Huge thumbs up on this one from an ice chewer as though it’s a meal! lol. Seriously chew a lot of ice every day!! Oh and this ice maker produces more ice in 24 hours than other ice makers that don’t say hey make chewable ice so I know that production will improve over the day!! Love that the power button is on the front! For me, it’s easier to reach than when it’s on the top!! ... show more

This was a fantastic decision! I had one prior to this unit and the thing was super loud. This one will impress on how quiet it is, I was pleasantly surprised. That was huge for me, as I live in a small apartment. It makes great ice quickly. Hint: Use purified water, and your cubes will be clear.
