Description

The Free Spirit In-Ground Fence allows you to customize a yard boundary for your pet. A radio signal travels from the transmitter through a buried wire, marking the boundaries you wish to set for your dog. Your dog wears a collar that detects the signal in the buried wire. As your dog approaches the boundary wire, the collar will beep and vibrate when entering the warning z1. If he proceeds further, he receives a harmless but unpleasant shock to contain him in the area that you have established. The Free Spirit In-Ground Fence can be used with pets over 5 Pounds.

  • A+ for having 3 setting! Tone-Vibration-Static
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
I did a lot of research before deciding on this brand, the number one reason for choosing this brand, it has tone-vibration-shock. There aren’t many systems with vibration. Another reason I purchased this brand, you can remove the prongs. Eventually, I believe the tone will be enough for my beagle. We didn’t use the wire that came with the system. We purchased thicker 1500 foot roll, wanted one continuous roll without having to connect, we also wanted to incorporate some woods behind our house and wanted the thicker wire so we could just staple it instead of burying it. I only wish there was a back up battery, we lost power for a couple of hours and we couldn’t allow him outside. Because of no battery back up, I won’t allow him to stay outside when we aren’t home, you never know when the power may go out! If there was a battery back up, I would give it 5 stars. Also, the orange “flags” trash them and buy or make some white ones. I see him looking at the flags to make sure he isn’t getting close to them. All he needed was the beep, I’m not sure if he’s ever gotten to the static correction. When he hears the beep he comes back. Even tho it says up to an acre, we did close to 1500 feet and it has worked fine! ... show more

  • Seriously good system for the money.
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
You know, I was sceptical at its pricepoint but I gotta say, I'm impressed. We live on the side of a mountain so fencing isn't an option. We tried 3 different wireless radio signal type systems...they all failed miserably. I wasn't sure whether to try a wired because I cannot dig to bury it but we had the idea to go tree to tree with it. I was afraid the wire would be flimsy but it's quite strong actually. There was more of it than I expected too. We strung it above deer, elk and bear level, going from tree to tree to make a perimeter and it's working perfect! I have a very stubborn airedale terrier so we have had a few mishaps of him just running thru it but he is getting the hang of it and we have way less incidents of him and/or our Pyrenees roaming now. (Bought the second collar separately) It was super easy to set up. No syncing or fighting with signal on collars. I'm loving it! As long as a moose doesn't come thru and snag the wire, we'll be in good shape :D ... show more

  • It works!
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
This is the 4th fence I've bought and the main features I like on this one is that you can adjust the level of the shock the dog gets if they ignore the beeping. Since it's made in Canada instead of China the manual actually makes sense and is great with lots of extra tips. I just ordered a second collar so I can keep one charged for Rascal who is in the picture after learning his boundaries this morning. This is a great fence system and a good price! • It beeps but the shock does not derer.
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
I got this for several dogs as a chainlinknfence will be $16k for my property. I live in an hoa so limited how I can enclose my property. I've used electric fences before, and it has to be under ground wire as my property is pie shaped. I bought extra flags and trained each dog individually. At first it was great, the beeping they came back into the enter area of the yard, now? Beeps away and they stand on the line and sniff the air without a care in the world. Seems the shock portion of these collars are not very effective in correcting them. My dogs mostly stay in the yard to begin with, but occasionally will wander to the neighbors or try to visit the gator infested canal. I was hoping to be able.tonuse these collars.so they could go potty without having to stay in my line of site and be able to use the yard more, but I guess not. I have to watch them and when I hear beeping resort to the training collars via remotes. (In case we get uppidy in the house these are worn to prevent any bickering) ... show more

  • Rechargeable collar batteries
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
For over 20 years I’ve had many different underground dog fences. This is by far the best I’ve ever purchased. The rechargeable collars are the best. The system automatically sets of a beeping noise, to let me know collars need recharging. Big savings on batteries & good for the environment, no batteries to throw away or worry they've gone dead. This time I didn’t bury the wire I attached it to my wooden fence posts or threaded it through small pvc piping. This way if there are any breaks in wire, I can find them easily & don’t have to run new wire. Now that my dogs know their boundaries sometimes I remove the prongs, so the sound & vibration is enough to keep them safe, so they can run & play & gives me peace of mind. ... show more

  • This Should Do The Trick
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
I bought this to replace my "wired" system that had two electric lines that I ran around the bottom and top of fence, the dogs would get shocked if the collar was between the wires up to 8 or 10 ft away. Somehow my dogs found a way to dig under or jump over without the probes being between the wires. The best thing about this system is that I was able to connect to the same wires and now the dogs don't have to be between the wires since it is transmitting a signal. My dogs are already trained with a collar so I shouldn't have an issue with re-training them. I've tested this on myself and seems to be working just fine. I also like the rechargeable collars. I bought an extra collar so I have a dedicated plug to the transmitter and another one to charge the collars. This is much more affordable then some of the other systems and should do the trick for me. ... show more

  • Best Buy
Style: In-Ground Fence Kit
This system has equal or better features (with the exception of the maximum fence length) compared to other invisible fences that cost 3-4X as much with no better warranty. It is like Free Spirit took the best features from competitors and applied them to their product. When other collars or transmitters eventually stop working (they will) due to age, lightning, abuse by dogs playing roughly with each other, replacements are expensive too. The extra collar for this system was only $35! Show me another system that compares. So far this system works as advertised, and if that continues, this product at this price is a no brainer best buy over all of the other systems I have used or reviewed. Even though I am familiar with these systems, the instructions are clear for new users. I used my existing wire loop that encloses approximately 1 acre and verified the 2 collars (2 dogs) work well. ... show more
