This is a great baseketball hoop! It looks really good and has a lot of detail. The most important thing is that there is padding that protects the door from scratches. The ball feels very nice and the net is of good quality. The hoop is great for game rooms or kids rooms!

    • It is what it is, a basketball hoop that fits over the door.
I got this to replace a rather cheap one I got before this, cheap in quality I mean. Even with the lower quality backboard and weak plastic hoop, it lasted years and I expect that this will last much much longer than that as it is a higher quality product. This uses metal clips to hold it to the door and a metal ring, the backboard feels like acrylic or polycarbonate but I admit that I don't know which one yet but acrylic would scratch easier as it is much softer. It could even be glass as there was some heft to it, though I doubt that it is glass right now. It does come with stickers for the backboard for favorite team, and while I like basketball, my kids just like making shots and don't have a favorite team yet so they just plastered the images of ones they liked on their backboard. The ball that comes with it is only slightly higher quality than the previous one, mostly better color and slightly better grip, but that is more that the last one had a good ball to go with the door hoop. It also comes with the pump to maintain the ball's pressure and initial inflation. Also forgot to mention, there are springs in the hoop which give a bit of a satisfying dunk feel. Overall, I am happy and my kids are happy I replaced their broken one. (Clips holding the old one to the door broke when it wasn't hanging right and the door was closed.) ... show more

I let some kids use this when they are a little fidgety and need to get their energy out. This fits great in my personal classroom without being a distraction. Fits nicely on my cabinet door and has held up well!

Easy to assemble with the same superb quality that you would expect from Franklin Sports. It is officially licensed with nba stickers which is most likely where all the extra cost comes in. They have similar hoops on amazon without the stickers that costs much less and perform just as well. Overall, this is a high end hoop at a premium cost, but if you want the real deal, this is it. ... show more

This is sturdy and well built. The hoop rim is very solid metal, and the backboard feels very sturdy as well. It comes with hardware for hooking over the door, a nice little basketball, and stickers of NBA team logos. I prefer it to be just plain though with no logos.

    • My brohter loves it!!!
I got this for my brother who is a sports fanatic. The fact that this allowed him to put a logo from his favorite team (the Celtics) on the backboard made it once of his favorite new toys. He immediately took it, hung it on his door, and started taking shots!! I did have a bit of a hard time finding the needle to inflate the ball but that was just me being a man and not reading directions (it is in the handle of the pump). The ball isn't the best and is not perfectly round but this is a toy and as such that is acceptable. Overall this is a great gift and if you have a sports fan in the house, it will put a smile on their face!!! ... show more

My nephew was super excited when he visited recently and saw this new basketball set. He immediately began playing with it and asked me to join him. I have to admit, I felt like a kid again playing with it and we played for over an hour. The included stickers/transfers were a great addition that allows for personalization of the unit. This is basically a real hoop, backboard and ball in a smaller size. The rim is made of sturdy metal and spring loaded. The backboard has the look and feel of the real thing. The ball also feels and plays like a genuine regulation basketball. The included pump is a nice touch and rounds the set out quite well. I have never seen another over-door hoop that even comes close to the quality, sturdiness and playability of this set.
