1st pic was after they went up, just the right amount of light. 2nd pic is after a Tornado took it about 200 ft from patio and 30 ft up in a tree. Surprisingly when it go dark the lights still came on. Purchasing more for new patio

This was a replacement for one I got here a couple of years ago. It was outside for two years until it corroded so I suspect these are not that durable by still worth it for the price. I strung cable between my garage and house and then zip tied this to it which. Didn’t do to the first set, and this hanging from its wires may have contributed to its short life. But I love how it lights up the back yard. It’s not a bright light though but a very warm glowing light. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Day one. So far so great. They light up my three season patio and make the patio much more inviting. I live in Minnesota where the winter months will usually weaken the effectiveness of solar panels dramatically. So I will update you guys periodically throughout Winter. I will also critique the effectiveness of the solar panel in general. It is currently fall here. We still get pretty good sun light so we'll see how the lights shine after a few days. My guess is that they won't be as bright as they are now. Day 2: keep in mind it's Sep. 25. The lights turned on automatically when it got dark out; around 6-7pm. This was nice. The lights lasted until about 9-10pm. Wish it would have lasted until 12-2. But I guess as winter is approaching if you are planning to have guests you should plan to charge it for about two days. Note that according to the manual, this product will not charge when you flip the on/off switch off. I have the solar panel inside the patio with Windows closed. Got home around 9. I was admiring the lights and they died as I watched them at precisely 9:20pm. I cannot say when they turned on precisely but my guess is around 6-7 as that's when it got dark out. I left home around 550 and it wasn't that dark yet and the lights weren't on so 6-7 is a guess. Update: 9:40pm the lights turned back on. Idk how. Either someone's in my patio or there was a little juice left..... Okay actually as I'm working this they turned back off. Day three lights turned on around 7. There was hardly any sunlight out today. The sunlight was very weak. Lights ran out of juice around 8pm. See picture for how the daylight had been like for most of the day. And also where I place the solar panel. The light actually just turned back on as I was writing this for about 30 seconds and then they turned off again. Week 2-3ish - it's mid October. The lights shine for maybe less than an hour now. Sometimes they go for two hours. But most of the time it's less than an hour. Winter months coming close to an end: so I haven't seen these lights come on since winter; actually maybe once for a minute or two. I guess the sun light is too weak or the technology just isn't there yet. ... show more

As others have stated, this string of lights is top, heavy-duty quality. I used zip ties to secure a string to my metal gazebo and it went quickly and looks quite nice. WHAT WOULD HAVE HELPED? 1) The directions tell you to peel the protective film off the solar panel. My panel, and as I’ve read in some of these reviews, did not have a protective film. I ran the risk of damaging he solar cells trying to dig for piece of the film I could grasp to pull off. Wasted time and potential damage to panel. 1) The directions suggest testing your string of lights before installing them. What they did not tell you was that such a test will result in the lights turning on only for 10-15 seconds. I thought I had a faulty set until I spent time reading Q&As on Amazon. Someone had called he company and was told that was normal in daylight. It has to be completely dark for the lights to stay on. That info in the instructions would have saved me time and a possible return. 3) There’s a lot of confusion re the solar rechargeable battery and the AA batteries in the Q&A and in the reviews. When I opened the box I expected to find a package rechargeable batteries that I would install in the solar panel. There is an empty battery compartment in the rear of the panel with slots for three AA size batteries. Experience had prepared me to believe that is where the rechargeable batteries were to be placed. I have nearly 40 solar lights in my backyard and they are all powered by an AA-size ni- cad battery. HOWEVER, these slots are for the “optional” AA back-up batteries. The ni- cad battery must be in the apparently inaccessible box above the empty optional battery compartment. That would have been useful info to know in advance. 4) It looks like these strings can be “ganged” together or at least add another solar panel. There is an identical connector at each end. Anyway, great set of lights. I hope the info above will save you a few headaches and make your install go well. ... show more

    • Perfect for what I need them for, tricky to use

So the first time we used these I loved them! But we didn't have them setup in a forever place. When we set them up a second time last night, they wouldn't come on. Now the manual days they have to be "on" to charge, but you just have one push button so you have no idea if it's on or off. So the next day we pressed the button midday so it would charge. They didn't come on again! Come to find out the wire connection just needed to be tightened. ... show more

Update: Contacted seller and it was resolved through them in a fast and fair way. I might purchase new ones later this year. Seems like it was just a lemon. I bought the previous version of these lights and they worked in cloudy Washington for a while. Now, I live in sunny San Diego, and the lights don’t stay on for more than 2 hours after a full days charge. I definitely got a lemon, or is the newer version now as good? ... show more

Beautiful lights worth the money and very easy to control with one button . I had the issue with no outside electric outlet and these solar lights work amazing . I wanted to replace the ones I previously had with the same brand company that I had previously bought because I loved my lights after they quit I’m on me after 3 years and I will keep replacing with these .They have Amazing customer service with any issues or questions .
