After reading reviews saying the gallon sized product is much less thick and more thin and "watery" than product sold in smaller sized bottles, I hoped that maybe there were a few bad batches out there and the product in the gallon sized container would be equal to that in smaller containers. So, I bought a pint size of Big Bloom at the same time I bought a gallon size. I received both on the same day, both sealed in the same way. I shook both products well, then poured equalish quantities into two different glasses and let them settle (see photo). The gallon (on the right) is about 1/3 good stuff compared to the pint product. I contacted Fox Farm and they said: "Since this Big Bloom is in a larger size (one gallon or larger) it will not likely have the correct consistency if shaken by hand. We suggest using a tool such as a paint stirrer to fully incorporate the castings and guano sediment into the solution." It would be hard to stir the product given the small opening, but I shook it A LOT and repeated my experiment. Fox Farm was right. The gallon size just needs to be well mixed. Four stars instead of five because both size bottles (pint and gallon) say to shake well before using, but this warning could be better on the gallon sized bottle. Customers are not understanding just how much shaking the gallon size needs, thus all the negative reviews and suspected addition of water. Glad to know the product is good and I can save $$ by buying the gallon size. And, I'll get an arm workout with all the shaking:) ... show more

Been using Fox Farm Big Bloom for 10 years along with the entire FF soil lineup except for sledgehammer and Bomberang. Those are not needed for experienced users, or new users as long as you don't burn plants and WATER FEED ONLY at least once between veg/flower and again for a last feeding or two before harvest. As a base nutrition it's amazing no doubt. This keeps plants healthy throughout grow and should be used at all stages of growth but only heavy doses once in awhile. One can get away with using it every other feed. The pic I uploaded is what every liquid fox farm product should look like when delivered. A sealed top under cap, clear date code printed and entire bottle sealed in bag. Only gripe with shipping this time was with amazon itself, my package was damaged early on and they just planned to refund money instead of shipping out a new one right away, I had to call but reshipping should be automatic when it's declared damaged in transit. If you get a bottle of anything and it isn't sealed and date coded return for refund or replacement. As for price the 44 plus tax delivered is unbeatable. But in past on here not long ago it's been as high as 70 per gallon. Anything over 50 for Big Bloom delivered is unacceptable. Keep it cheap Amazon. ... show more

I love this fertilizer and so do my house plants! I've been using it for several months and the results have been great. The fertilizer is organic, doesn't smell bad, and doesn't seem to stain anything. It's liquid so it's super easy to use. My indoor geranium has bloomed so many times! And my indoor palms have had several new branches. I really love this product. I always shake it before using it. Also, it leaves a little residue in the watering can, but that doesn't bother me. ... show more
