It’s comfortable to write with, they’re obviously really nice looking and it comes with so much stuff! As you can see in my pic, there’s not a huge difference in the thickness of the lines based on the size of lead but you CAN feel the difference when writing. I like the 0.7 and 0.9 the best bc it’s sturdy feeling in the pencil (mechanical pencils tend to wiggle around inside but the thicker lead seems to feel more sturdy. ) It could be my imagination but there seems to be a tiny bit more resistance with the thicker lead. I love how many small white eraser replacements you get and all the lead and flat erasers, etc My biggest con is about half the white eraser is unusable as the holder for it goes deep. Huge oversight. I currently can’t get one of the erasers out lol but I haven’t messed with it much. I’m sure I can stick a paper clip in there and get it out. (And even so, there’s the flat erasers too) I’ll update with more later if this changes. Overall I highly recommend!! Would make an awesome gift, esp a stocking stuffer :) ... show more

This is a very nice, complete pencil set! it has a great case for ease of storage and -most impressively- has two sizes of lead for the pencils, the .5 and the thicker .7mm. I prefer the .5mm for sharp detail and tiny lines. The .7mm is better for shading and fuller coverage. It does make a difference as .7 is more like a standard pencil tip that has gone flat and needs sharpening. These are HB leads, which is medium strength, neither hard nor soft. A very good general pencil. If you want portrait pencils, you'd want more of a mix of hard and soft leads for varying shadow depths and heavy black areas and such. There are a ton of lead refills and lots of erasers! Everything has a soft, warm plastic feel, not hard that can cause callouses quickly (you may still want to get a finger guard if you're going to use these a lot. One of those would have been a nice addition), so they feel gentler than your average mechanical pencil. Overall, this is going to last you a long time and offers tremendous value for the dollar! I love this little pencil set!! I wanted some pencils that look professional and cute, and these are perfect. The carrying case makes it really convenient to store backup pencils and erasers so I don’t lose anything/have extras on hand. I like that the erasers are hidden away under the cap of the pencil (so it kind of looks like a pen). There is nothing worse than when an eraser won’t erase— thankfully these work really well with minimal effort.
