  • portable, solar and crank charge, and it will charge an iPhone 15
I was looking for a portable weather radio for camping/bug out and initially was going to get a Midland ER210 but a helpful amazon reviewer pointed out it can't charge anything but an iPhone 11 or earlier. I wanted the option to be able to trickle charge a phone or other modern device from the radio. Midland support confirmed it cannot do that for later phones. Initially, I could not get this radio to charge my iPhone 15 Pro Max either, but FosPower replied with the following steps: "1. unplug everything from the radio 2. set the SOS switch to the center position and turn the radio off if it is not already 3. Turn the radio on and find a clear radio station in AM or FM, let it play for a second or two 4. Switch to Bluetooth mode and set the SOS switch to the charging position 5. Connect the phone to either output port If this solves the issue, then steps 3 and 4 should suffice without needing to unplug any cables. Let us know your results." This worked and my iPhone 15 will charge from the type A USB port but not from the type C port (which is fine by me). After this "initialization" the radio will charge the phone no matter what position the Function Switch is set to and with the SOS switch set to either Off or Charging. Also works with the radio off. Overall seems like an excellent radio for size and function, with a few unnecessary features. The buttons are also impossible to read but usable once you know your way around. Pros: small size lightweight, 12.6 ounces on postal scale well built can be charge via solar, crank, or USB can charge modern phones great radio reception Cons: buttons very hard to read SOS alarm will play through earphone jack - caution volume control not too granular Questionable features (YMMV): flashlight compass bluetooth speaker micro SD card slot Useless feature (YMMV): white noise mode ... show more

  • Great for peace of mind
Color: Model A1
Bought this after getting into emergency prep, and I like it. It’s good for what I want. Pros: - Lightweight - Both lights are very bright - Radio is loud and reasonable clear Cons: - Hard to crank, especially as fast and as long as is needed for power - Not the best charger. It charged my phone from 17% to 83% in just over two hours before running out of juice. Would work for an emergency phone call, but not as a long term charging source in a power outage. Would recommend for emergency prep, especially if you’re looking for something portable. Would not recommend for camping trips (at least not as a power source, the radio seems to do pretty well on one full charge). ... show more

  • Good for backup in an emergency
Color: Model A1
First impressions. Everything works. It is solid and heavier than I would expect for a small, inexpensive radio. There is no play in the tuning knob, and it has the right amount of resistance, not too tight nor too loose. The sound from the speaker is what you would expect with a small, inexpensive radio, but the weather band is loud and clear. The FM reception seems ok. From experience having traveled with many small, inexpensive radios as well as small fairly expensive radios over the years, I expect this one to be durable. The one negative, perhaps, is AM reception doesn't seem that good. It is there, just doesn't compare favorably to other little radios that I have. Of course, this may or may not be a relevant issue for most people nowadays, and observations will probably vary. But as I say, the weather band is strong, and the FM is acceptable, in my opinion, for a backup emergency radio. ... show more

  • Small device, lots of power 5/5 ⭐️
Color: Model A1
I bought this for my go-bag. This product works great, looks great, and sounds great. I love the idea of being able to charge my phone even if there isn’t electricity nearby. This radio is solar powered and has crank power as well, in case it’s nighttime. Volume is much better than I expected. Overall value for the money is here. I’d recommend to anyone. ... show more

  • Great! Perfect for power outages.
Color: Model A1
It's hard to get service where I live but this product has absolutely no issue picking up signal. It's loud and clear, no static. The hand crank function works perfectly, and I adore the different ways it can charge. I have had no issues with it and shipping even came sooner than expected. The item arrived in great condition as well. ... show more

  • Good lower priced radio
Color: Model A6 / Green
Pros and cons... I gave it 3 stars for lacking a few features but it's decent radio. PROS... It charges via Solar, Hand crank and USB. If those fail, it takes AA batteries! It charges more slowly on cloudy days but it DOES charge in LOW light! The hand crank works well and will give you about 25 minutes of radio after cranking for three minutes. I suspect the gears are plastic but if you use reasonable care when cranking, it should last. It has great reception and sound. 7 preset weather stations. Analog tuning and good control with the knobs. Nice basic radio for staying informed. Has a bright reading lamp and a fair flashlight but brightness is NOT adjustable to save power. CONS... Rechargable Battery is NOT replaceable. It does NOT have an Emergency Alert feature. No clock and the front panel is not back lit. ... show more
