This is a great, hefty vice for my work bench. Good jaw extension with reversible plates, pipe jaws, and swivel mount. Very good price for a quality product.

  • Great product for the price
Size: CR40A-4.5In
I did some searching, reading, and comparing of bench vises under $100, and this one definitely seems to have great quality and features for the price. The only drawbacks I can see are that the provided hardware (see image) is way undersized (1/4" or M6) and standard grade. I upgraded to full size (7/16") grade 8 hardware. Another very minor issue is that the vertical grooves in the jaws are offset from each other by about 1/32" (see image). ... show more

  • Solid, well packaged
Size: 6.5Inch
Seems very solid, well packaged, I very much like it and look forward to many years of use out of this vise. My old harbor freight vise broke because it was crappy cast iron but this one seems to be better and will have great longevity for use.

  • By far, the best vice for the price...
A quality, substantial vise is an integral part of any home workshop - especially if one is going to work on items of any size (e.g. tractor and implement parts, automotive, home improvement projects, etc.). You need the real deal, not a makeshift or playtoy to just get by. And unless you're big enough commercially to justify going higher, you'd really appreciate a good price and have more money for something else. The CR-80A checks all of those boxes and more. I would highly recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • Great ductile Iron Vise at a reasonable price
Size: CR40A-4.5In
If you have done your research you already know that ductile iron vises are twice as strong as cast iron. This vise was a little smaller than what imagined it would be but it is perfect for my diy suburban needs although if I had to do it over I would personally buy the larger 6.5" vise. Take your time analyzing exactly where you want to mount your vise. Ideally it would either be a left or right corner of a workbench and as close to the edge as you can making sure that the face of the vise is beyond the workbench edge in order to hold longer items in a vertical position and also to be able take full advantage of the swivel base. Another tip is that by design the spacing between the front mount holes is meant to be larger than the rear holes (don't put it on backwards). I used M10 1.5 SS Flanged Hex Bolts/Nuts and they fit perfectly. You could also likely get away with more readily available 3/8" Hex Bolts/Nuts/Washers ... show more
