I bought a few of these sets to try and complete my full set. It is a gorgeous flatware set. I have never seen a set that was so shiny. They feel like excellent quality pieces. There is a nice heft to the handles, but not so much as to make them awkward to use. The design/shape of the handle is on both sides, so they are a little thick, which I find to be a good thing. They look and feel better than the flat handles that just have the design on the front side. I love these, cannot wait to complete the entire set and would definitely recommend them. The style is so versatile. They would look beautiful in a formal setting and are also excellent for casual use. They will fit with any theme or decor. I have had no issues with any marking or rust. No black marks like some other sets often get. These are just simply perfect, very polished, high shine flatware. ... show more

I have always used a spoon. It gets things going so I can switch to flooring and kneading. This is heavy. I also would appreciate it if it were an inch or more longer to balance the proportions and sit better in the hand. The bowl of the spoon is very big and broad. The spoon is super thick. If you are looking to -thwack your brother- go camping, it would definitely be good for -survival- cooking! Does need a longer handle to avoid proximity to hot things and improve balance and hold. Might need a better handle design as it does broaden near the end, forcing the hand forward. Yet more reason for a longer handle to secure slip without constricting space or dipping too close to the bowl of the spoon. Excellent sturdy neck where it attaches to the bowl. Really heavy though. If it were the same weight and 1.5" longer, I don't know that I would have any complaints. ... show more

I bought service for 8 several years ago. I loved it and always received compliments when guest came over. Fast forward to this past year... a friend who was going through a rough time fell in love with my silverware. I gave her the entire service. After the silverware was gone, I realized that nothing else made me as happy. I just bought a new service for 12. This pattern is very classic and goes with any occasion. It goes in the dishwasher without incident and looks new after years of use. My favorite thing about this pattern is the weight! It is very heavy and thick. Definitely not the thin stuff you buy at discount stores. Also of note... there are some fun "extra" pieces you can buy. (Butter knives, steak knives, expresso spoons, and ice tea spoons, etc.) You won't be sorry with this pattern! ... show more

I was looking for an update of my old flatware from 1982. This is beautiful, very heavyweight, holds up well in the dishwasher so far and they compliment my Mikasa Italian Countryside dishes perfectly. I hope that the Doria set remains as timeless as the Mikasa dishes and is accessible for years to come. One small complaint, Fortessa stamps their logo in the stainless steel on the front of the flatware and it comes across as excessive. Perhaps if they had stamped the back of the pieces or left it off, but it mars the beauty and shine of their artwork, in my opinion. ... show more

These are beautiful and very well made. Super heavy and larger than I expected. I did not measure and was a bit surprised and delighted when I opened them. A great slotted serving spoon for large dishes.
