I have a Corvette convertible being black that shows every single scratch or swirl mark on the hood and trunk top surfaces. Seeing this advertised as being a color wax that will hide those light scratches and swirl marks, it disappointing still seeing them in the direct sun light. The top arrived damaged and broken. After cleaning up the bottle and replacing the broken top, it worked well. It was probably damaged in shipping. The bottle was encased if plastic which kept very much from being wasted.

    • It's NOT Touch-up Paint

I started using this product in the early 1990s. It's great for waxing older, weather-worn and scratched car finishes... you don't get the white marks that highlight the imperfections like with regular wax. That said, it is NOT touch-up paint... it's NOT going to fill scratches and chips, or make them disappear. It will, however, color them and make them far less noticeable. I bought the red wax to "hide" the scratches I put on the hood of my wildland fire engine this summer, when I had to drive it through multiple barbed wire fences. Did the scratches disappear ? NO! Are the scratches (down to primer) far less noticeable? YES? A couple of tips: 1. Keep the bottle inverted a couple of days before using, then shake it VERY well to disperse the color agent into the liquid. 2. Apply on a warm day, and NOT in direct sunlight. It's a pain in the butt to buff this stuff if you apply it to really hot metal. 3. Apply the wax in very thin coats. Again, it's a pain in the butt to buff out if applied too thickly. 4. Wear disposable gloves, or your hands will be whatever the wax is for days. 5. Don't get the wax on anything you don't want to be colored... even pinstriping will take on the color of the wax. 6. You can add additional spot-coats to chips and scratches, after buffing... it will help conceal the imperfections. ... show more

This is to hide scratches for only a short time. Mainly used for car dealers who want their car to look good as they sell it. Now, on the other hand I own a black truck and I use it all the time and I like it it's a good product. I usually use mother's goal to wax my vehicle and then later on in between waxes I'll use this product which works well and hides scratches I have a black Toyota Tacoma truck. She's a '96 but she looks beautiful, has a great paint job on it. Yes, I would recommend it. But just be aware it's not for long term use it's something you would want to use in between I don't mind it works good. You won't be wasting your money. ... show more

Vastly superior to the Turtle Wax versions, but not a miracle worker, nor should it be expected to be. I have a fair amount of rock trips on my front bumper thanks to my commute, on a dark blue car. Used this to mitigate, not erase them, and it worked fairly well. I did one side of the bumper to see the difference, it was noticeable. Did a few coats and got better still. Again, it's not going to mask every little thin, but certainly works to muddle, my car doesn't look like it has glitter on the front anymore and I've tried polishing and buffing the chips with various degrees of pad to no avail. Not knowing the durability, I put a couple coats of Wolfgang on there to protect it a bit more, plus it help to restore the depth seen on the other parts of the car. Good buy for the money, and certainly better than the Turtle Wax. Also easy to to remove (the part immediately after application) like the higher quality waxes are (Pinnacle, Wolfgang, etc.), so that was a bonus. ... show more
