The weight and solid strength of the seat surprised me. I attached it to an end wall with solid blocking behind it. It folds up against the wall when not in use and does not take up floor space. It is made of materials that are not affected by water so it should be looking good for years.

As a remodeling contractor, I've installed almost every shower seat/bench on the market. This unit is strong, beautiful, and easy to install. The chair quality and solidness than was much better than I expected. The instructions were a bit on the poor side (Chinglish)! But hey - use common sense when mounting! Don't drill your holes before you decide what mounting hardware you know you are using! I was lucky enough to locate a stud and used the included stainless lag bolts without the inserts on one side and purchased some 1/4 inch x 1" long Stainless lag bolts for the other side. I did use a silicone sealant around the perimeter of the mounting plate and around the screw holes on the shower wall liner. The thickness dimension afte mounting on the wall is 2 1/2 inches at the base (Hinge) and tapers down at the top to about 3/4 inch. ... show more
