  • Essential tool for your electrical work box
The media could not be loaded. If you work with electricity, especially house wiring, a non-contact voltage sensor is an essential for your workbox. It allows you to check if a wire is “hot” without having to touch the bare conductor. While its real purpose is to prevent you from electrocuting yourself, there are lots of uses for it. For example, it’s very convenient for identifying the “hot” wire in a junction box with several cables in it. There are lots of videos on the web that will show you how to safely use this type of tool. The Fluke version is a little pricey, but it has nice features, works extremely well, and is rugged enough to survive work use. I’ve had three of them at this point, mostly because they got lost, and I’ve been happy with all three of them. I’ve tried others and none of them have worked as well as the Fluke. ... show more

  • Essential Safety Tool for Every Toolbox
These testers a must-have for anyone working with electrical systems. First and foremost, its simplicity is key. The ease of operation makes it a go-to for quickly identifying the presence of voltage without direct contact. The audible and visual indicators provide instant feedback, ensuring safety during electrical work. The build quality is excellent, as expected from Fluke. It feels robust and durable, giving confidence in its reliability on the job. The pocket-sized design makes it convenient to carry, and the integrated pocket clip is a thoughtful touch for quick access. The added bonus of a flashlight function adds practicality to its use in dimly lit areas. The only thing to mention, which is no fault of the manufacturer, just building code - it doesn't always pick up voltage for tamper proof outlets as it is difficult by the nature of the design of the outlet to insert the test probe. ... show more

  • Excellent
Bought this to replace a different brand that was not trustable. I’ve tested this one with 120V and lamp wires. It worked perfectly through all 9 tests. It detects a live wire even if current is not flowing, for example when a table lamp is switched off but is plugged into a live outlet it will detect the live wire of the lamp even though the lamp is off. It properly indicates a dead wire after a switch is turned off, and detects the live wire leading to the switch that is turned off. It’s excellent and I trust it. When a switch is turned on it detects the live wire on both sides of the switch. It is not overly sensitive and needs to be touching or almost touching the insulated wire. This makes it a great tool in situations where you have a lot of wires close to each other like in a breaker box. ... show more

  • Only NCVT I will buy
I am a licensed electrician and this is by far the best NCVT I have ever owned. I have tried different brands like Klein and Milwaukee and Fluke takes the cake by a landslide. I’m a huge fan of the over all design, quality and look of the tester. It will take a beating over time and will still work the same was as the first day you opened the package. A lot of other testers are too complicated and sensitive… certain testers will detect voltage if you hold it too close to a light fixture that is turned on and will go off for almost no reason which is a safety hazard in my book. The Fluke tester has a simple on/off button and will blink red when it is turned on and when voltage is detected it will beep loudly and show a solid red indicator. It also has an option to not beep loudly when voltage is detected, you can use this function by holding down the power button when you turn the tester on. I swear by this tester and I do not leave my house without it! ... show more

  • Good AC voltage detector
This tool is so much better than the ones you'll find at HD or HF. Like all Flukes, it's tough and robust, serious about safety and very high quality. The device worked perfecting. The only thing I didn't like was that it had no way to completely shut off, so the battery is always draining. Light draining of the battery leads to battery leakage, and corrosion. The other problem is removal of the batteries is very difficult. In fact I had to use a pliers to remove the batteries. This is kind of a poor design. Also, the light needs to be much brighter. I would like to see a high output LED, or even have a detector that doubles as a flashlight. The beeper needs to be more than one frequency too, and different sound than their DVMs. Other than that, it's a great tool and worth having. ... show more

  • Quick and immediate responses, great even for non-professionals.
Had a problem of a wire in the house that was questionable whether or not it was "hot". Heard some guys talking that a "Fluke" would help in this. Researched and purchased this product. It was so easy to use I found out instantly what i needed to know to fix the darn thing. This has come in quite handy for other power problems around the house and shop. I Love it. ... show more
