  • Quality plants
The plants arrived much sooner than expected. Having recently purchased plants from other online sellers I can honestly say that these are of a much higher quality. All but the cuttings came with many healthy roots in wonderful condition. The cuttings came well protected with foam and a lead strip instead of a rubber band crushing the stems. Only one plant was melting away but I cleaned the bad and planted the remaining 3-4". It'll probably be fine. The order came with an instruction sheet for care and planting. This company is getting my business in the future. They obviously know what they are doing. My only complaint is the lack of an inventory of the plants shipped. Being new to aquarium plants any info would've been nice to help me learn. An accurate list would've made learning simpler. I highly recommend this seller. Edit 01/01/24 I've got baby snails. I cannot blame this seller for it as I have used multiple other sources for my plants. They did appear within 24 hours of planting this order. I'm not upset by it anyway. It's my fault. I have a mud with sand substrate tank with an abundance of plants and wanted a few snails anyway. You might use better practices for your tank when planting anything from anyone. I didn't but thought my experience would be good info for others to at least know. ... show more

  • Great value to start out a new tank
The media could not be loaded. A little more than a month later and at least one of each species is still growing. The Anubias is a little iffy but I think that’s on me with too much lighting, poor glueing, and low nutrients. A few of the stems died off but as long as I have a few of each I’m okay with that since they’re easy to propagate. The swords are doing great and the grassy plants are good as well. I received two of the longer grasses which almost died back all the way before their roots kicked in and now I’ve somehow ended up with three of them. The swords are doing great as well. I enjoyed this as a starter to get my tank set up and will probably add some more specific plants later. Two things I wish were better. One: I would have liked to receive a card identifying which species each of the plant are. Since this set is mostly for beginners most of us won’t know what these plants are and would like to research how to are for them. Google images reverse image search has helped. The other thing is I wish the plants had been rooted longer. Most of the plants had very small roots or none at all which I think limited some of the immediate success. I've got aquasoil beneath the sand as well as root tabs. Oase filter and led lighting. No CO2. Currently have 8 amanos, one snail, and 10 neons planning on a few medium sized fish eventually. Tank is 40 gal. ... show more

  • From A+ to F...
I am a very seasoned aquarist, but this is my first time buying live plants on line. I can safely say I won't do this again. To be fair, AquaLeaf delivered plants that were well packaged and provided a guide that beginners in particular would find helpful. However, only three plants were within the size range with the quality I expected . It is true that shipping comes with risks, but this is precisely why I've always selected my plants carefully in-store - to get real value instead of things that are almost entirely brown. One (resembled vallisneria but was so brown, small and mushy that I'm genuinely not sure what it was supposed to be) literally looked like a dead thing (only a hint of green while the rest was essentially decay). I will hopefully get to do a follow-up review in a month or two after the plants have settled in their new environment. As it stands now though, I would recommend only buying hardy plants from this vendor (anachris, java ferns and anubia, for example). The more delicate ones are likely to melt by the time you get them. The only real plus is the price is "semi-reasonable" since most plants can cost at least $9.99 each at most stores (or even 12.99). So, if even half of these improve in health and size, it will have been worth the expense. Update*** Now, months later, most of the plants have grown beautifully and have even multiplied (through my cutting and placing them elsewhere). The two grass-like plants have not improved. They're just alive. Everything else is thriving so it was definitely a worthwhile investment. If you're willing to wait for them to mature (they grow quickly in nourishing conditions), then this is a great buy. ... show more
