It took my wife three weeks to assemble this, and we have lots of hardware (washers, odd bits and pieces, bolts, screws) left over. It's a bit wobbly, so when she is at work, I'm going over it and tightening everything again. (It was her project, and l didn't want to hurt her feelings by re-doing anything she already did), but it has to feel solid, before I take the chance of sitting on it). It's truly a magnificent "Beast," and actually looks more like a Throne for a King, than a simple bar stool. As stools go, it's about as good as it gets. I just wish it included a guy to put it together. At one point, my wife was using a framing hammer to beat some metal parts into pre-drilled holes, and I thought she was going to smash this stool into little pieces. I would have preferred to pay another $200 and get this Big Boy delivered ready to sit on, than with a 5-pound bag of hardware, and instructions written by a well-meaning resident of the People's Republic of the Emperor of China. I found out why the various pieces of the chair are loose. Some of the machine screws were not tightened, but one machine screw was not tight at all - l could pull it out with my fingers. The metal, threaded sleeve is missing, and there is only a bare wood hole, pre-drilled. The machine screw was just turning around in this hole. I will have to call the manufacturer to find out what to do. Meanwhile, there are still lots of miscellaneous parts left over, and the chair is not usable. Also, the bottom of each of the chair's legs have only a wood "peg" sticking out, which scratches the floor when the chair is moved, and don't look like a proper bottom of a heavy bar stool. We finally gave up. The whole bar stool is loose and wobbly. There are 8 factory-drilled holes (see photos) without the necessary metal "tubes" to go inside. Even if we had those threaded tubes, the drilled holes are too large to grip the tubes tightly. There are too many of some parts, and not enough of some other parts. The instructions are only a diagram, and no written instructions. Even on the diagram, and the list of hardware, they don't show the threaded metal sleeves, but some of the sleeves were included. After endless hours, and a loose, wobbly chair, we are giving up and throwing in the towel. It's past the return date, but Amazon was kind enough to let us return this thing, and sent me a return label. Now comes the part of finding big boxes, and sending this monster back to Amazon. I asked for a replacement (guess I'm a glutton for punishment), but Amazon would approve only a return for a refund. This is absolutely the King of All Bar Stools, but the "King is Dead" and l cannot put the King together. ... show more

Bar stools are nice but they are a pain in the butt to assemble. Poor quality hardware (bolts, and washers).

    • Still working on completing our 3 chairs
WE have had 3 delivered, one of the 3 was good. Once the arms were already broke like another customer stated after use for a month or so except mine were broke when I got them. The other one was delivered in a box that look like it was climbed on and was all smashed. So I did not even open that one up I just sent it back immediately. The bad thing is it already had Amazon tape all over where it was smashed so I think they need a little better quality control. So we will update once we have our 3 complete good chairs. The one that we have everyone fights over to sit in since they are really comfortable and they do swivel all the way around. ... show more

This chair is a complete flop. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I want to warn others. Please don’t waste your time. Issues listed. The swivel plate is too small for the swivel base allowing the sides to rub together when in motion. You will get splinters putting chair together. Chair screws are done with Allen wrench. Wobbly and not sturdy. Stripped screws. I returned the 2 chairs I purchased within days of receiving them. The only thing going for this chair is the color.
