  • Solid rack and lat pull down is worth it
Style Name: Lat Pull-down Attachment Only
The rack is amazing and great quality. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but honestly there’s a lot of value in this one piece. Only thing I didn’t care for was the securing bar for the lat pull down add on. The lat pull down add on is great and it gets used often but the bar for holding your legs down is awkward and moves too much for it to do what it’s meant to do. Instead I use a belt to hold myself to the bench. It’s not ideal but it’s affordable and practical if you’re having any trouble staying put. ... show more

  • Amazing value.
Style Name: Power Cage Only
For the price, this thing is great. There are quite a few pieces, but the instructions were easy to follow, and the rack is nice and sturdy with lots of versatility. You won’t find a better rig for the price, and I suspect it is as good or better than others which are much more expensive.

  • Great centerpiece to start a home gym.
Style Name: Power Cage Only
I have used this cage daily for roughly 3 months and the pros far outweigh the cons. Let's start with the cons: (1) without being weighted down, the cage is a bit unstable for some exercises. Examples: I do leaning lateral arm raises where the upright is my anchor. Without weight on the cage, the rack would topple over. Also, when using heavy weight for landmine chest presses and using a plyo box as a psuedo fulcrum or point of support, the cage will lift off the floor at the point where the landmine attaches to the frame (think of a seesaw with only one person; person goes down while the opposite side goes up). That said, this is the tradeoff you make when you consciously purchase an inexpensive (note, I did not say cheap) piece of equipment with a small footprint designed for home use. Most of this is easily countered with weights low and at the corners as seen in the picture, provided you have the luxury of other weight available to perform the exercises. In my case, I use dumbbells for the leaning lateral raises and bumper plates for the landmine chest presses and leave the iron plates on the holders. (2) The smaller chrome hooks (not the long safety bars) that come with it leave something to be desired. As a result of the design, if you are shifting the bar laterally before un-racking, they can come unhinged if you are not careful. And, if you care about this sort of thing, they do not have high backs and you will scratch the uprights and potentially your bar when re-racking. It also makes for a clunky re-rack as the the hook is not flush with the upright. I opted for third party j-hooks with high backs and hard plastic "padding" (not the Fitness Reality ones) that solved this. (3) I would have liked the pull-up bar to have knurling. I use hockey tape, but it's not the same. All that said, I have zero regrets about this purchase. I have not experienced the negatives in some of the other reviews. The item was packaged very well and there were no defects out of the box that I noticed. For the price, this is a sturdy piece of equipment and is manufactured well with quality material and I expect it to last much longer than I originally anticipated. It was easy to assemble and when all bolts are torqued properly, there is minimal to no wobble. I can see how some people would have issues with hitting their face on the upper horizontal support bar when re-racking after a squat, but I face the opposite direction. I imagine these folks have a mirror at the rear of the cage and this is why they face that direction. The hooks don't have to be on the rear upright where that support bar is, either. Additionally, there are plenty of universal 2x2 attachments available (dip bars, j-hooks, landmine, etc.) that make this rack a solid centerpiece to build your home gym around. I opted not to purchase the lat pull down attachment and instead use after market pulleys and resistance bands, further enhancing the usefulness of this cage. With this cage and available attachments, there is almost no exercise that I cannot do at home that I could have done at the gym. I would highly recommend this item if you are able to get it at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Best Bang For Your Buck
Style Name: Power Cage Only
This went together super easy, and I've even had to take it down to move it again. The powder coating isn't the greatest and is coming off in a couple spots (that happened immediately when putting it together), but I can't complain too much for the price. It's relatively stable, but I'd recommend keeping the weights on the rack or it does move around. I also have the dip bars on mine, and it's solid enough for me to use them without any problems. If you want something cheap and good, just go for this one. Both my brother and brother-in-law use this same one and none of us have had any issues. ... show more

  • Very Nice Weight Lifting Rack and Lat Pull down attachment
Style Name: Power Cage Only
I have been lifting on and off for most of my life. I am now 73 and haven't lifted for 20 years. Getting too soft so time to start lifting again. - Purchased this rack and had it set up in about 30 minutes. Everything went together perfectly. I did all of the assembly by myself; assembly was a breeze. The rack was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition. No road rash at all. The paint was unblemished and the metal parts were formed perfectly. I purchased upgraded J-Hooks ahead of time because the stock hooks don't have rubber padding and the design is not to my liking. A very minor drawback considering the low price of the rack. I always lift by myself without a spotter. When I was 55 I felt confident lifting without a spotter. However, now that some years have passed, seems prudent to employ some sort of protection should I become unable to complete the lift. The 1" spotting bars fit the bill for this need perfectly. I can now try to crank out that last rep without fear of snapping my ribs should I run out of steam. I no longer will attempt max weight on any lift, but will focus on lifts I can complete in 6 to 15 reps. Meaning, I do not need a rack that can support 600 pounds. The rack looks plenty strong and can likely support 600 pounds without a problem. However, if you are like me and don't plan on being an olympic weight lifter, then this rack will be a perfect addition to your lifting equipment. Just make sure you purchase a solid bench and you won't be dissappointed. I have had the rack for 9 months now and I still love it. Recently I purchased the Lat pull down attachment. Wow, what a perfect setup for a home gym. I watched several Youtube videos pertaining to the lat attachment assemble and those were helpfull. All parts are packaged nicely and identified as to where they go in the lat attachment. The lat attachment comes with oil which you are instructed to apply to the slider. I lubricated the slider as instructed and discovered the oil is a waste of time. After one day of use the slider started sticking. However, I purchased some silicone spray and that works perfectly. I applied the silicone spray a month ago and it still slides perfectly. I have now installed several pulleys to the front of the rack which allows me to pull the cables from a variety of positions. I assembeled my rack in an unheated metal building and that is where it has resided since I purchased it. During the installation of the lat attachment you will need to disassemble much of the rack in order to attach the lat option. I noticed that all of the bolts that are used to construct the rack had rusted because the temperature gets cold during the winter in my unheated metal building and allows condensation of moisture on the cold metal parts. Would have been nice if they would have used zinc plated or stainless bolts to prevent rusting. Not a big deal for me. I will simply replace the bolts with stainless bolts and the problem will be resolved. If you keep your rack in a garage or some place that doesn't get super cold during the winter you probably won't experience the rusting issue. All things considered, I love this rack / lat option setup and would purchase it again without any reservations. ... show more
