I really like this cage overall after one week of use. Good value for what it is; really don’t think there is many better options at this price point. It’s on the larger end, but not too big. I got the PLM03. A lot of people complain about ease of assembly, but I really didn’t find it bad at all. The pulley system took a little while to figure out, but wasn’t tough by any means; watch the video that is in the advertisement of the product here. Make sure you tighten the bolts as tight as possible to help with the sway. I went over them twice. The positives: *Despite the plastic, the pulley system operates nicely, and does the job. *great value; I spent about 4x the amount I spent on my last cage and feel like i got 50x the value. *doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart and feels like it can handle some weight. The materials are durable, but could benefit from a thicker gauge steel. *love the dip handles, landmine attachment, and the row attachment for your feet. *overall design is sleek and it came in 3 nicely packed and labeled boxes that made it easy to inventory; I definitely had to watch the instructional video to put the pulley system together though. The negatives: *The very first obvious flaw is the attachments; not a big deal, but I definitely suggest buying better attachments for the pulley system. *Second is the left to right sway. Not sure why there isn’t some type of support beam(s) on the back third of the cage. It ultimately makes it less sturdy and makes it wobbly. It is still functional, but i plan to go over all the bolts again to see if this helps at all. - it did help, but still sways. *The guard bars have a rubber handle that falls off, so make sure they are on there tightly or the guard bars will just fall out; not ideal. Might try some super glue or something to try and keep them from falling if I need to use them if I hit muscle failure. *Lastly, plastic weight holders. Not a fan of the plastic as it was already flawed upon arrival. I can’t put the weights on all the way on the left side of the pulley system because the screw is bulging out bigger than the circumference of your standard Olympic plate. Leaves about a 2 inch gap. (See pictures) Overall, love this cage and it is a huge upgrade. The plastic on the pulley system and left to right sway are the only reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. I reached out to try and get a replacement weight holder for the pulley system as the one that came with it doesn’t function properly. If you aren’t massive and aren’t trying to lift competitively, this is a great cage for the money and works great for a home gym. (I will update this as time goes on and once I go over all the bolts again). Edit 9/20/24: went over all the bolts again and there is still left to right sway; appears it is just inevitable. I tightened all of the bolts as tight as I could possibly tighten them by hand using forged steel tools; I’d be nervous taking an impact drill to them. That being said, it does help; I highly recommend tightening them a second or even third time until they are snug as can be. There is no front to back sway though. Pulley system is starting to be crooked and bend because of the faulty plastic weight holder and the plastic parts in general (I’ve only put on 90 lbs; 45lb plate on each side and used for 1 week). Still, really like the cage, but not sure how long this will last with heavy use; my concern is mainly the pulley system essentially being made of plastic and thin metal. Update: 9/22/24: customer service has already replied to my inquiry willing to help, so I am hopeful. There is also a page on facebook that has a lot of good info managed by the company. I’m checking to see if there is the ability to get aluminum pulleys to replace the plastic ones. I think it will help a lot. I will continue to update. Update 9/24/24: customer service already shipped a new weight frame. I’m seeing on their website that they have an add on to replace the weight frame with stacked weights. Definitely going to do that. I think that will help really stabilize this thing along with the aluminum pulleys when they are in stock. This company has great customer service and is really striving to improve their products based on customer service. Bumping my review to 5 stars. ... show more

My only complaint is the assembly manual was a little iffy. Some of the steps (step 4 and step 5) should be broken up into more steps. I eventually figured it out, assembly (by myself, just 1 person) took me 3 hours which isnt too bad. just take your time, you'll be alright. I highly recommend an impact driver or cordless drill, 14mm and 17mm sockets, and a seperate ratchet wrench. theres a LOT of bolts to attach so this will save your wrists. (you can see mine on the floor, 2nd pic) the packaging was great, all components were undamaged and spotless. build quality of the parts is superb. I love that its a fully enclosed rack with the safety bars, and yet the cable pulley system is external. Other racks its on the inside and hits you in the face when you squat. Also, the pull up bar is great, im 6'2 and had no issues. perfect height ... show more

Instructions were not detailed. Surprised I was able to complete the installation without any major errors. Also, the J-Hooks can be dangerous when trying to rerack the barbell. It can get stuck on the TOP of the J-Hook. Super dangerous. Hoping to find a replacement J-hooks

Works well-bench, squat, all cable exercises. Plenty sturdy and stable. Lacks opportunity to purchase extra j-hooks, plate rack for other side, safety straps. All round good rack.

I don’t usually do reviews but this equipment is excellent quality. The cables and pulleys are very smooth. The barbell is made extremely well. The weights are also high quality. The powder coating on the cage is durable, the black scratches easy but I think that’s for most things powder coated with the rough black finish. Nothing I can say is wrong with the bench, rack, weights, and attachments. Top tier quality. I included a picture of the delivery because I just knew the way those packages were “thrown” off the truck by FedEx something would be broken or bent. But it wasn’t. I did have issues receiving the bench I wanted but the customer service department acted quickly and timely to get me the right bench. So that was also a positive. They even covered all the shipping costs involved to get the wrong bench sent back and the correct bench sent to me. Overall a great product and a great customer service experience. I love that this power rack has variety of ways it can be used plus it includes storage for weights and barbell. If you’re looking for a power rack capable of targeting your full body look no further. I’m the worst at following instructions and have 0 knowledge of tools and building things. I do wish the instructions provided more guidance, nothing a couple questions google and youtube couldn’t answers. I watched the video for assembly prior a couple times and that really helped. My first order had misaligned holes, I reached out to customer service and they were amazing! I had my poles replaced and it’s perfect. For the second time around I used a drill bit adapter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND it made the assembly so much quicker and less of a hassle. ... show more

I own the smith variant of this particular rack, and I’ve owned it for roughly a year now but it’s essentially the same mechanisms behind the pulley system. If you’re fairly strong or aspire to be at least - I’d stay away from Major Lutie Racks. The moment I build my strength to respectable levels is the moment the system snapper on me & the plate holder belt. For this kind of money - it just doesn’t seem acceptable to me. ... show more
