First off, I love building things. Wood, metal, arts, crafts, rods, cars, you name it. So could I build a rack like this for the time and money? No way. It's very sturdy, easy to assemble, clean looking, and if you play around with it you can make room for more reels than expected. Some inside and others outside, and some just rods. The cushions are soft enough to protect the rods, and easy in and out, although the more rods you put in the harder it is to get out. Easy to assemble. Stable. Sturdy aluminum construction. Nicely holds small to medium sized fishing rod & reel combinations. Large fishing rods, like flipping sticks, trolling and salt water equipment, are less stable. Stability would be improved if one size/type of rod would be stored as the fit can be customized; however, not all sizes can have the more tailored fit at the same time. Whoever designed this rod holder deserves a medal in manufacturing design. Extremely easy to assemble. All pieces were nice tight fits that yielded a solid unit without wobble. Easily adjustable. Well thought out in every detail.

I had a plastic holder similar in design to this, but was narrower and held less. This unit is made of predominantly metal, feels sturdy and is capable of storing a wide variety of poles. Sometimes you get what you pay for and plastic holders are no exception. This holder was more expensive but certainly feels worth it and feels like it might outlive me. I recommend this for anyone who wants a reliable, nice looking holder and is willing to pay a little bit more to get something that is built for the long haul. ... show more

Easy to assemble with no tools. One of the plastic screw dials was partially broke, it still worked good enough. Holds poles ok. Probably not worth $50 however. Better buys out there.

Looove this rack. Got rid of the typical tangle of fishing rods leaning in the corner and organized them great. Filled the front row of the rack, alternating rods with reels and rods without reels, added 4 surf rods to the back row and a couple more rods. The rack was put together in about 10 minutes but we forgot to put the bolts in the sides at the bottom of the shelves and the bottom stand fell off initially. Easy to remedy, just use all the supplied bolts. Sturdy and very easy to choose the right rod to take fishing. ... show more
