This is a very good vent hood for the price. It works well and it is quiet. When I took it out of the box the instructions say to plug it in and make sure it works, which it did. Some of the reviews I read before purchasing this product said when they installed it and tried to turn the fan on all it did was hum. After installing, of course I went to turn it on and yes all it did was hum. I uninstalled it from the cabinet and it worked again.. The attachment that fits into the top fits slightly loose if not placed perfectly. This caused the fitting to fall into the top vent hole, jamming the fan, causing it to only hum. I don’t know if this is the same cause as what happened with other people. Just make sure to check to make sure the plastic adapter is fitted correctly. Despite the instructions you cannot mount it flush to a wall. The power cord is stupidly placed so that you can not mount it flush to the wall or to the bottom of the cabinet. Maybe some kitchens have a plug inside an upper cabinet for a vent hood, but my old one was hard wired. I can't tell how well it works as I have given up trying to find a way to install it, and am returning it. It looks good. It was value priced but worthless to me. Probably a great deal for a new kitchen where you can design your kitchen around this vent hood. ... show more

I like the quiet operation of this nice looking vent hood. It is a great value. Has 4 speeds and led lighting. It was an easy install, but it uses 5” round pipe, where most range hoods are 6 or 7. “ round. You will need to order 5” round alumaflex to hook this up. Even most of the supply houses don’t carry it. I got it from supplyhouse.com. They had it in stock. Update 09/09/2024 After using this daily I have come to realize that it has poor air movement. My vent is straight up through the cabinet and the roof. No restrictions. I recommend saving your money and buying one with better airflow. ... show more
