Description

At its most basic level, the FINIS Swimmer's Snorkel for kids allows athletes of any ability to swim at normal and much slower speeds with perfect stability and a full range of motion, without the stress of adding proper breathing techniques. These skills are the most critical aspect for novice level swimmers to master and for advanced swimmers to perfect. The Swimmer's Snorkel places greater emphasis on proper body alignment, as its center-mount design allows athletes to relax in the water and maintain a completely laid out, horizontal position. Swimming smart allows the athlete to adjust his or her stroke to the maximum efficiency. A one-way purge valve allows for clear and easy breathing. The hydrodynamic design when worn with swim goggles promotes proper head and body position. The nose clip (Swimmer's Snorkel Jr. only) teaches the swimmer to breathe only through the mouth while swimming.

  • Great for Beginner Swimmers
This was a great buy for my son, who was just getting into competitive swimming. This came in key for him learning how to swim the length of the pool and did what we expected. It was easy to put on and adjust according to the size of his head. Word of caution to make sure you leave it out after usage to let it dry out (vs putting inside of a bag) to prevent mold and mildew. ... show more

  • These are great for our two girls ages 4 and 6
These are great for our two girls ages 4 and 6. We are in the community pool almost every evening and they get lots of use from them. I use my adult size one for lap swimming. For people with breathing and/or heart problems, these are great respiratory exercisers. They make you breath deeper but with moist air. They are also good for people with neck or spine problems. You don't have to turn your head to catch your breath. You just breathe through the tube. ... show more

  • Great training tool for the younger crowd
I have 4 swimmers in my family. My middle child uses this snorkel (she's a tall 10 yo) She probably could have went with the normal size snorkel, but then it's harder to master - especially during those flip turns. She's a great swimmer, and the snorkel (when her coach makes her use it) has her focusing more on her stroke, and less on her breathing. I've also notice that she doesn't bounce as much when she uses it - because if she bounces, she'll get water in the tube. DO NOT get the insert to help keep water out - you're kids lungs will explode while they try to breath air in - with the cap on it's like giving them a bar straw to breath through. Might be a good tool for the older swimmers trying to build up their lungs, but that's something definately not needed until college levels or above. ... show more

  • Get one for your kid and an adult one for you! Amazing.
My daughters swim coach requires these so the kids can get going on freestyle fast. She is seven and loves it. I am amazed how well she can swim after just a few lessons with it. Without having to perfect the breathing, she can swim confidently. I even let my four year old use it and it is amazing how easily they adapt to breathing out the nose and in the mouth. The only thing I would add is the coach said to but the adult size next time. The only difference in the length of the yellow tube. The longer the tube, the deeper they can submerge during strokes without inhaling water. ... show more

  • Almost perfect fit Afro my 8 year old
I got this for my son who is 8. The snorkel is still a bit big (from what his coach says) but is workable. This is a swimmer's snorkel and not a diver's snorkel. There is a difference in the way the mouthpiece and snorkel connect, I learned. Water does still get in the main chamber, but that may be because we are still learning how to properly use it. Advice, practice breathing through it before you get in the pool so that your young swimmer is use to the way you breathe through a snorkel. ... show more

We purchased two of these for our boys for swim team - they work great. Be careful to understand the sizing - we purchased two adults on our first shot and didn't realize there were three sizes until after the order was created and too late to cancel. Amazon was great about the return when they arrived - but I would have liked to have saved us all some time. ... show more
