We got these for snorkeling at the lake. I've never used a full mask type before and didn't know what to expect. Pros: Full face coverage, mount for go-pro and comfortable fit Con: when you go under, the pressure hits you hard! You can't stay under for long at all unless you really push yourself.

I bought one of these because it seemed silly to spend over $50 for something to try to keep my face warm in cold water for early season outdoor swimming--which it does quite well. I bought the larger size after reading reviews. I am right on the edge, as a 5'4", average-sized woman, but I can see how the smaller size likely would have been too tight. Considering I have been in 50-ish degree water, it stays pretty clear, keeps the water out, and probably will actually not fog in "normal" temp water. My only gripe is that I really can't swim hard. Despite the valve looking large, this feels like it has less volume than my lap swimming/normal swim snorkel, and I have to either go slower, or pause and lift it off for a couple minutes to catch my breath--which sucks, in cold water. Of course, it could be that I use more oxygen in cold water, but I have my doubts about that. So, for the price, I really can't complain *too* much ... show more

Bought these as an anniversary gift for our vacation. Simple to use, and gave them a test drive in shallow water at the beach to confirm the fit. Used them later on a snorkle cruise and WOW what a difference. For anyone who has anxiety over breathing using mouth tube snorkel gear, the full face/ normal breathing made a massive difference. First, this does what it says it will do. It's a great full-face snorkel. Breathing is easy, without that "teeth clinching" feeling I sometimes would get with a regular snorkel, so I could relax more. Other plusses: The strap that goes around my head is stretchy fabric, so it doesn't pull out my hair like the rubber does. I LOVE that. The snorkel folds down when not in use making it easier to store. There is just nothing about this I don't like. Measure your face properly before you buy. My family and I went snorkeling this past summer and used these to be able to see the underwater beauty, and it did the job by allowing us to breathe mostly comfortably and to see the beautiful underwater sites. Unfortunately however, as I was told by our professional snorkeling instructors, this type of snorkeling gear does not pull in 100% fresh air you are pretty much breathing mostly exhaled air over and over which cannot be good for you. After enough continuous usage I had a blasting headache and was dying to get out of the water. There are snorkeling masks that have an opening up top to make sure more fresh air is available to you - I think I would get one of those next time. ... show more

This individual snorkeling mask works well as long as you’re swimming leisurely. If you are a strong swimmer, the snorkel will flex back as the hinge will end up hitting you on the forehead. But as I mentioned, if you swim leisurely, the snorkel will not flex back basically putting pressure on your forehead. If you are a strong swimmer, this is not the snorkeling mask for you. I’m going to attempt to get a refund and send it back. It is hard to dry off 100% after using the mask. So after a week of using this full face snorkeling mask it’ll start to fog up, causing haziness. That’s why I’m giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more
