Very comfortable, perfect for counter height, the do not hit the counter when turning, they swivel, they are very sturdy (my husband is a big guy), and they match my espresso color cabinets perfectly. They were very easy to assemble in very minimal time. We did have a problem with one of the foot attachments, there were no threads to screw it in. I had put these together late at night so I emailed the company expecting to get a reply the next day or so. Within a few minutes I had a reply with an apology and a promise that replacements would be sent. And within a couple of days it arrived. EXCELLENT customer service!! When I saw the HEAVY sticker on our shipping box, I knew we had gotten quality bar stools! And YES. They are heavy and sturdy, yet great looking. We just renovated our kitchen and these stools help us modernize the look. The backs are a little lower than I expected, but actually ideal so that when you SWIVEL (I needed this for my legs and ease of getting on and off), the backs fit right under the countertop.
