Features

  • Suitable for electric fences (made of steel, aluminum or other conductive wire, rope, braid, tape, net) for containment of rabbit, poultry, small-sized pet, or for keeping out rodents such as rabbit, squirrel , etc.
  • Powered fence distance subject to type and resistance of fence wires, number of fence wires, vegetation on fence, grounding and installation of fence system, animal intensity level, etc. Effectively powered fence distance around 0.5 miles / 2 acres in average (multi steel or aluminum wires, little vegetation), or up to 2 miles / 8 acres (single steel or aluminum wire, no vegetation). Heavy vegetation and poly fence products will reduce the overall power of the fence energizer.
  • Compact, sealed structure. Equipped with two terminals, ground (black) terminal for connecting to a separate ground rod, fence (red) terminal for connecting to the fence line. Indicator light flashes with pulse, showing working condition. Lightning protection included.
  • Rainproof design, but better indoors or dry location installation in box or under shelter with 110/120 V, 60 Hz line connection. Peak voltage 4.5 kV, and 3 kV under 500 load.
  • GROUND ROD (EARTH SPIKE) for earth connection is IMPORTANT to have good performance of fencing system. Warning signs shall be fitted to place where person may gain ready access to the fence.

    • Get the more powerful version. The .15 Joule one did not stop the rabbits.
I first bought the .15 Joule version. It did not stop the rabbits. I replaced it with a .35 Joule version and I don't see signs of further rabbit raids. I was not sure if it was functioning, so in lieu of peeing on the wire, I bought a fence tester; The .35 joule version registers voltage strongly at the 7k volt range. The .15 joule version was 1.k5 or 2k volts. If I was using it as a per fence, I might consider the small one, since they may "mark" the area, resulting in some amount of pain. Not really a joke, My buddies black lab (Auggie) marked my old Koi pond fence at least 3 times. (Auggie was likely the dumbest black lab I ever knew) ... show more

    • Good but easy to burn out
I bought 2 of this for sheep. When working you get a light for pulsating. You can tell when something is wrong by this light. To fast or steady on, something is off. 2 I bought burned the circuit. 1st was a wire touched the powered fence creating steady ground and it stopped working. 2nd a branch grounded it long enough for the charger to stop working. Wish it had a reset button or something like it. Otherwise good when working. I got hit by the charge... not fun lol ... show more

I ordered this to electrify a fence around a vineyard to keep the deer out. It did not say whether it was a pulse or continuous charger, and I assumed it was continuous. It is not. It is a pulse. Not what I wanted, but it will do and is probably safer if a dog bites it or if someone grabs it. The plastic knobs to tighten on the wires are really flimsy and I suspect won't last long but can be replaced by nuts. I have it under a shed---- doubt it would survive if exposed to sun and rain. I liked that it is so compact. I am using it around my apple trees to keep the deer from devouring my prize trees. I have plenty of apples, I enjoy watching the deer interact as they gorge on the fallen fruit. However, they insist on a salad also. So they nibble off the producing tips of the branches. I was looking for a small, inexpensive charger to protect a small flower bed that deer are using as a salad bar and this one fit the bill. The charger output measures a bit over 6KV which is more than enough to discourage grazers. The only drawbacks are that it not water proof, has no on/off switch and most important, the power cord is probably only 24" long which means that it must be installed close to an outdoor receptacle. ... show more
