They seem to work great at first but within a couple months they all eventually died and I thought it was something to do with the insulation but they are the same thing once they got to about 30% capacity they did the same thing. And another note, I was surprised how warm these were getting. These other being very low quality, was a huge letdown because I had to give my customers all new drives. Usually go through about 500 drives a year before installations. These ones were the worst ones by far every one of them failed. We just tossed him all in the garbage. My PC is formatting this drive at a block rate of around 300mbps which is pretty standard. Formatting at this rate will take a little over an hour and I will monitor the drive's temperature and test transfer rate. I'm going to go ahead and install an OS on the drive because I think it will perform better as a primary drive. I will send a follow up review later. The following days I installed my os and got my games running. I immediately noticed that so programs are running better and faster. The os boots up in less than 30 seconds. Read write rate is around 540mbps. ***Update*** its been a few weeks. This hard drive is running as my primary hard drive and is running stabily and normally so far. I notice no heat issues or slowness in fact my PC is about 60% faster than it was with the standard hard drive. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. ***One Month Update** It has been almost a month and I am using this SSD drive as my primary drive. I have since upgraded memory and processor as well and all is functioning very well. ***July Update*** I've had this HD since April so going on 3 months now. It is still working great, no issues at all. My computer boots faster than ever and runs quietly and perfectly. I have no complaints, so far everything is perfect. **AUGUST UPDATE** Still working great, no issues with the drive. I'm going to buy another one soon to use as a redundancy backup drive. ... show more

I received the 1TB model new in box. I ran volume recovery on it out of curiosity and found an NTFS volume labeled "SSD_7" file: "System Volume Information/WPSettings.dat" Unexpected and curious. Here's the hexdump: 0000000 000c 0000 6954 7a1b 4da3 a85f 000000c Model Number: Fanxiang S101 1TB Serial Number: MX_00000000000024267 Firmware Revision: SN14130 device size with M = 1024*1024: 976762 MBytes device size with M = 1000*1000: 1024209 MBytes (1024 GB) I wrote a gpt label, formatted ext4 without a journal and ran f3 on it: Average writing speed: 133.20 MB/s Data OK: 938.80 GB (1968814104 sectors) Data LOST: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors) Corrupted: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors) Slightly changed: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors) Overwritten: 0.00 Byte (0 sectors) Average reading speed: 410.50 MB/s Seems real. Adequate performance even if a bit slow on the writes. Note the write speed was faster when it was less than half full. About 250MB/s at 17% full and about 90 MB.s at 85% full.
