  • Ends up being 4.5 Tb, not 5
Capacity: 5TB
Once it was hooked up to the console, it showed 4.5 Tb. Not sure why it wasn't closer to the full 5. Whatever. We needed a new one after the WD Book died, so it'll work.

  • It works. Annoying to install, and on the expensive side, compared to similar cases.
Capacity: 2TB
The GOOD It works. Really. Follow the instructions. If you do NOT pop the side plastic grid on the XBox case, you'll make a mess, snap something. Gingerly snap grid off of XBox case, apply to side of the hard disk case, EVER SO GENTLY plug/guide the HD into plug and onto case. pay attention to the small metal tabs. It integrates real well, even retains the side eject button. The USB ports are a definite nice touch. The eternally on light, no so much. Nice, careful packing. The best tech support they got is a video at manufacturer's website. The link on the pamphlet doesn't work. When you turn the console back on, the drive is recognized automatically. Ding! The BAD There is a power plug on the back. No cable supplied. Shoddy. If necessary, include cable, if plug not necessary, delete it. On the "shoddy" part, the plastic if really flimsy. it's not as if the XBox One case stops bullets, but this is positively a handle with care situation, namely during insertion (twss) Similar cases (no HD) cost 25% of the price. You CAN get those cases, and a similar or higher capacity HD for about 70% of the price here. They are the same quality and build, and made in the same factory, too =) Some of the other cases even have A FAN ::magic wand glides over words:: Summary. Not bad, but a bit pricey, for the quality, considering similar (as in, exact same) and much better priced alternatives exist. Manufacturer: drop price a bit, increase quality of the plastic (yes, factory will do that), polish the product a bit; eliminate vestigial unused features, add V E N T I L A T I O N, instead. ... show more

  • REFORMAT IT!
Capacity: 2TB
It arrived faster than I thought, and one I plugged it in I noticed that I could access it directly. I had to download a separate app to access it, only to find out it was already formatted as a media device. Only capable of pics, vids, and that’s it. So I reformatted it to exfat and wiped it entirely, once I did that it let eh Xbox format it into a actually usable hard drive for games. It’s nice so far but just make sure to reformat it. It came in a refurbished box and I didn’t see that it was used in the description anywhere but so far works good. ... show more

  • I needed this.
Having a basic xbox one that only hold 500 GB of data for games is rather small. Especially because 136 GB is used up for system information. Leaving you with, roughly, 364 GB to store games, music and apps. Add up that most xbox one games use up 12 to 50 GB (and possibly more) of space and you have to install the games to play them, regardless if you bought them physically or digitally, the default Hard Disk Drive (HDD) on the system gets used up quick. Let's face it, you'll be installing, uninstalling and reinstalling games a lot. Add on internet download speed for digital games, content and updates (hey remember when games had to be as finished as possible and worked on day one. Instead of the broken buggy messes that needs day one patches!). That eats up a lot of your time. Time you wanted to play games. Well this will help. I don't know if the issue of it not showing up as an option if you installed it while the system is off has been fixed. I had heard that was an issue and a good work-around was just install it while the system is on. That is what I did. Just clip it on to the side of your system where the instructions show you. A quick turn off and on to see if the xbox still recognized it as an option (go to the system settings and look in storage . Also hit the A button while hovering the cursor over the new HDD/SSD/SSHD to be able to select the option to have your games install to the new storage area by default You can even move your currently installed games from the old HDD to the new storage). So far it has worked very well. I have no complaints about this. Do remember that this unit only works with the old model xbox one and not the others (the S and X models). Add on the fact that the storage unit is easily removed and I could put this on a new console if I needed to. I am really happy with this. ... show more

  • Its ok
Capacity: 2TB
It works great but it broke recently and I hit it or drop it and it doesn't read the hard drive anymore

  • Intermittent issue
Capacity: 2TB
I have an issue with this item where sometimes my Xbox will not detect it. I have to reset my Xbox and unplug/replug the hard drive several times to get it to work. The first one I ordered initially was detected then before anything could be installed it stopped working and wouldn’t detect by my Xbox. Was making a funny noise and I had to exchange it. The replacement works intermittently. Not sure if it’s a Microsoft/ Xbox thing or the brand of hard drive as I had the same issue with sea gate and have heard of very many people through comments on YouTube videos that have the same issue. ... show more

  • Aesthetically nice but not functional
First off. The product is elegent. It adds to the xbox without extra wires and keeps Things minimal. However the first time you plug it in it’s advised you have the xbox on. When i had it off it would change my power supply to orange and the xbox would not turn on. Once i managed to fix that issue it worked but then when i turned off the xbox. The power supply would turn orange (which means something is wrong) and I wouldn’t be able to turn it on till i removed the harddrive. This is an issue because i don’t want the power supply indicating something is wrong when i’m not home and becoming a fire hazard. Its also counterproductive to remove a harddrive everytime you need to turn on the xbox that will break something eventually. So i Have decided to return the product 10 days after Using it. I will use my old hard drive which has a seperate adapter to connect to electricity (sadly more wires) but I have no option. I really wanted this to work out but it didn’t. ... show more
