  • Great game
Great game, good experience for solo and for group

  • Atmosphere to burn! Great game!
This game is a wonderful blend of RPG and CCG. The thematics are engaging and it is wonderfully atmospheric. If you want to learn how to play, and it’s not that difficult, watch the tutorials on Fantasy Flights website then watch the episode of Game Night! on Boardgamegeek.com. Aaron does a phenomenal job of explaining the rules, and watching it played is the best way to learn. ... show more

  • Great game but came with damage.
The game itself is great I would love to give it 5 stars but when I opened the package it looked like some cut a square into the box cause the shrink wrap was missing and there were knife marks on the box. Further more one corner on the lid was torn and damaged as if it were thrown on the ground. I'm not sure what point in the process of delivering this that the damaged occured but it does kinda suck that it happened. However every card was in the box damage free I played through the first scenario and it was easy to learn and the game itself is very fun and the artwork on the cards is amazing I highly recommend buying the product I'd you enjoy cars games. Just be warned you may end up with a damaged box. ... show more

  • A definite improvement over the original core set
A definite improvement over the original core set, which was designed to make you buy 2, with all the wasted duplicated monsters and locations and such. So not only does this solve that problem, FFG also gave the buyer premade investigator decks. That *last* was actually enough for me to buy the revised core set, even though I already owned everything else. For players who are interested to play but get turned off by the additional work of building a deck, premade decks are great. (Yes there are some standalone investigator decks, but they're monotone, since each one is really a 1-color deck). A pity FFG took such an indifferent approach to the new investigator expansion for Dunwich Legacy. ... show more

  • Wrong Edition Sent
The game I'm sure is awesome. The fact that Amazon shipped me the 35 dollar, two player edition, not so awesome. Awaiting replacement. I spent near 50 dollars on this item, I expect Amazon to send the product I purchased. Until they do, 1 star.

  • Great value, super complex game
This game is amazing. It's also SUPER complicated. Watch some YouTube videos before you dive into this game so you know what you're committing to. This is the Revised Core. This is what you want if you've never played this game before. The campaign is very short, but that is because it is designed to teach you how to play. If you like this campaign you'll LOVE the others. The campaign in the Revised Core is between 4-6 hours worth of content depending on how you play. A typical full campaign is 24-36 hours worth of content. And that's if you only play it once. The player characters (investigators) are all different and there are 5-6 in each campaign expansion (5 in the Revised Core), and you can use all of the player cards with all of the campaigns. This means that as you get more expansions, you can replay them with different investigators. So if you have a few expansions, you can get literally hundreds of hours of game time out of each one. It's got amazing replayability value. The old release model of this game was super confusing where you needed two of the old cores to really play with more than two decks. THIS Revised Core has all the cards from two old cores and some other cards from some of the other expansions thrown in. MUCH BETTER. It's a very complicated game but the story element is GREAT. I don't even really care for Lovecraft stuff but it fits this game so well I can't imagine it any other way. If you're into Lovecraft this is right up your alley. The Arkham Cards app (while not an official product of the game) for your phone is free and is hands down the BEST boardgame phone app I've ever seen. It fills in a lot of needed help with the rules and you can use it to track and run your campaigns, which you can share with your friends. Don't sleep on the app, it's half of what makes this game so good! There's a learning curve for the app but if your in this far there's already no saving you. ... show more

  • Wow… this game is a rabbit hole. Be prepared to get sucked in!
I’ve never played any sort of living card game like this, not anything like Magic etc. That being said, with a little time and effort I quickly understood how to play and was hooked on this world and the adventures within it. If you are into Lovecraftian vibes you’re going to love this and have a new obsession on your hands! ... show more
