This faux birkin philoderon is a great alternative to the real thing. At a cursory glance, you really can't tell it's fake, as it is very well made, including the planter it's in. I have a few corners in my living space where the sun doesn't hit, so keeping other "live" plants alive in those spots has been a challenge. I got this plant to go in one of those areas and it totally brightens that part of the room. The base is heavy and the size is exactly what I was hoping for. I love real Birkin's - this artificial plant is a good way for me to add the look of a Birkin to our seasonal lake cabin. Since we aren't always at the cabin, artificial plants are the only kind that work for us there. I'm happy to have this addition. This artificial plant is made well. The leaves are made of a very thick plastic and look real enough for my needs. The color variations are nice. Just note... some of the leaves have the same pattern/variegation on them, so if you know this plant well, you'll notice right away that the leaves are exactly the same as others. But from a quick glance, this isn't as noticeable. The stems look fairly real. The stems allow you to slightly bend them to adjust and position the leaves where you want them. The pot is a thin white plastic. Just drop this pot into a decorative pot you have at home, and it makes the plant look much better. The plant arrived well packaged by the manufacturer, but the solid black "soil" was all cracked and broken, as shown in my photos. I just placed these pieces back in the pot loosely, and will just leave it that way (as shown in one of my photos). When I took the plant out of the box, it needed to be "fluffed" up a little. One of the leaves was broken off the stem, and another was almost broken off (see photos). I used a hot glue gun to repair these broken leaves. Overall, I am happy with this artificial plant. Sure, up close you can tell it isn't real, but from a distance, it looks real enough for me at our cabin. ... show more

This is actually a decent little plant. It sounded like it was going to be messy in the box , so I opened it up on my porch, however they did a good job packaging it and it has plastic wrap around the plant and styrofoam on the bottom so everything is contained.. every leaf is bendable and wired so you can adjust the leaves to your exact liking.. you never have to water it and it will always look perfect. This is great for places that have low lighting, but you still want some greenery.. ... show more

This could have been a really nice fake plant, but the failings outweigh the advantages. The pluses: nice variegated leaves, nicely hefty base. Cons: dirt was all broken out of mine and one leaf was snapped off at the base on arrival. The stems were difficult to mold into natural shapes, like they do not have wire throughout the stem. So this arrives tightly packed with the leaves wound down tightly so you gotta fluff it up to get it going. I instantly broke off a leaf! I gasped and was hopeful it would have a little thing that attached right back to its leaf base, sadly not the case. So I glued it back because I’m impatient. After that I continued to be unlucky in trying to separate the leaves and make it more realistic and fluffy like the pictures online. It’s still very much like it arrived. The dirt, like others mentioned, is really real. Like I thought it was real-real. I don’t know. I’m a little torn. It’s nice but not as nice as the images and it’s not very user friendly. I think for the $$ and quality, you could find others much better in this category. I do love the look but would love it more if it looked like it’s online photos. This is an attractive artificial plant. It's what I would consider a moderate sized plant, with nice patterns on the leaves. There is no wire in the stems, so there is no (or almost no) possibility of arranging the stems in a different pattern, but thankfully the pattern in which they come is quite attractive. The base is quite heavy, for an artificial plant. I consider that a very good thing. Cheap plants are really easy to knock over because they are top-heavy, or they just feel poor quality. The base is nice-looking and plenty solid. Good quality plant. The artificial soil is hard, like a cement. Mine was broken in shipping, but I arranged it inside the pot, and it still looks just fine. No issues there. I can't really find anything I don't like about this plant. Maybe if there was a bit of wire to permit this to be posed, it would be better, but I can't complain, overall. ... show more
