💯 Absolutely recommend this bag!!! Had a UFC 100lb heavy bag, lasted me only 3 months until the hanging strap ripped! After receiving this Fairtex bag, instantly noticed the difference in quality of materials and construction. Note: when buying unfilled, recommend you look up how to fill a bag before you start filling to prevent you from having to un-fill and redo like I did; I didn’t carefully pack. Weight and sand bag shifted to side making several hard spots. Wake you up good when you first kick it! 😆 ... show more

Love the Fairtex gear. Looks good and I’m sure the lumpiness will even out over time. Good large bag and definitely cheaper to get it unfilled/empty but what a pain to fill. Probably gets easier the more you do it but not sure how many more times will do that. It was far more of a pain to fill than I thought it would be - after cost of filler materials (sand, insulation, ziploc bags and duct tape) very close to cost of ordering a filled bag. Probably would have just spent the extra and ordered a filled bag if I were to do it again. ... show more

The leather quality is unreal!.. bag came unfilled which is why I ordered it ( cheaper) but fairtex has always been a favorite of mine as well as the quality in their craftsmanship always made to perfection but man was it long and hard to fill. Please make sure you get 2 rolls of duck tape and if you have lots of useless clothes that you are gonna throw out anyway than use it to fill this. I used clothes, hand towels, towels, I cut up an old sleeping bag and used the stuffing was well 2x 50 lbs of play sand divided in to half gallon ziplocks and duck taped the entire outside of each sand bag filled the center with the sand bags and stuffed the outsides with the clothes etc! Make sure you line the bottom with 4 cut out lays of card board with duck tape as well to layer the bottom and top to help support the bag from sagging. This takes lots of time and you will need a stick to pack the clothes in so that there are no air pockets in the bag also make sure the sand bags are in the Center or this could be painful to punch!. On another note I have to say this bag is worth every penny!!! Definitely gonna use it everyday great for movement and perfect for beginners and experienced fighters. ... show more

Bought this a few years ago. It's a little bit of a pain to fill. I suggest to get a hold of friends and gather all their old t-shirts and start filling. It's still like new and I beat on the bag almost every day.

Great bag, but filling took a bit of trial and error. I originally bought Vigaro shredded rubber mulch from Home Depot to fill this. With settling it easily too 9 bags. Each bag is about 20lbs, making the filled bag over 180lbs in weight. This was too heavy and hard. I dumped it all out and refilled it using a combination of rubber mulch and low density foam (do not use memory foam). What I did was line the bottom half with a cheap foam topper (from target) and fill the middle with the rubber mulch. The upper half of the bag I filled with mixture of rubber mulch and approx 4"x4" cut pieces of the low density foam by mixing it as well as I could (you might be able to get this foam as scrap from a foam/upholstery store. After initial settling of the rubber mulch I topped off the top 1' of the bag or so with only lo density foam so it keeps it shape. In the end I was left with a bag that was about 150lbs, which has some give to it while kicking. The low density foam I added made it feel like I was kicking a thigh, rather than a solid object. ... show more
