  • General EZViz review
Style: C3WN-1080P
These cameras are just a step above useless. If you have the means to get better cameras, you should do so. Setup is not easy and fails most of the time. They don't stay connected and drop out a lot but they come back up eventually. They'll also often show offline when they are fine and you need to reboot them to fix it. However, I'm going to be constructive here and try to offer a few easy steps to make setting them up a little simpler for you: Using the app to configure the camera is hit and miss. The built in wifi in the camera is more or less toy quality and will drop your connection right in the middle. If you have a router with ethernet ports and a windows computer, you can try following the steps below. 1) Download and install the ezviz studio app for windows from their website just click support and you'll see a download center. (Fair warning: the studio software is old and not very user friendly. They don't seem to care enough to update/improve it. It is passably suitable for configuring these cameras but not reliable enough to use as your camera monitoring software. The program crashes if left running for longer than 30 minutes or so.) 2) Connect an ethernet cable to the inline port on the camera and then plug it into a port on your router. Plug in your camera and let it boot up. 3) Run the EZviz app and create an account so their cloud service can spy on your cameras and try to sell you subscription crap. 4) Click the "All Devices" button on the bottom left corner and let it scan for your camera. You'll need the code from the sticker on your camera for this part. (I recommend changing it to something you'll remember as these stickers are cheap. They fade and fall off easily.) 5) Once you've added the camera go back to "All Devices" from the main screen and click "Advanced" under your camera. 6) Go to Network > Wifi > enter the name of your SSID, the password, choose the applicable security method and save. 7) At this point you should be able to unplug your camera, disconnect the network cable and plug it back in. It should connect to your router via wifi now. Good luck. ... show more

  • Motion detection captures small bugs flying around. Expect to have millions of small videos.
Style: C3WN-1080P
This is our 3rd EZVIZ, but our 1st outdoor camera. The other EZVIZ products were okay (not great), but we decided to try this one. Two problems combine to make this camera pretty useless. 1) the motion detection is hyper sensitive and not adjustable; 2) the video clips capture time is too short in response to detected motion. The first night we had it, I got 688 captured videos, each about 1-2 seconds long. Reviewing those to see if there was any actual trespassers or other problems is insane. Hey EZVIZ people, it would be REALLY REALLY nice if you could make adjustable motion sensors, AND customizable settings for how long the video should capture. ... show more

  • Works until it doesn't
Style: C3WN-1080P
It did work well until it didn't. All of sudden last week the camera just stopped working, I've tried everything and it completely dead. Lasted not even 8 months. Contacted customer support and they responded with try these steps..and body of their email was blank. I replied that email was blank and crickets. I did like it, it worked well but now it's useless. ... show more

  • Will NOT work with routines within the Alexa App
Style: C3WN-1080P
Let me say upfront that I have 9 of these cameras and they work great in the basic sense of a cheap video camera. Their App is nothing special and hasn’t changed much in 5-years. Recently they added the ability to view a camera using Alexa which is nice. I was really excited recently when I was creating a routine within Alexa and noticed that my Ezviz camera was listed as a smart home device. I quickly created a routine, picked the option that when my camera detects motion, I then selected to turn on a smart switch. Sadly, the only time this works is when I choose “play routine” within the Alexa app. The camera detects the motion, records the motion within Ezviz App, but will not trigger the routine within Alexa to turn on the smart switch. My only reason for this review is to share this limitation for those thinking they’re getting something they are not. Yes it works with Alexa, in a limited sense ... show more

After trying Eufy I realized that I needed something not battery powered. This camera works perfectly because I don't have to charge it. I also like that it uses an SD card. The picture quality is very good, I don't think it's as good as the Eufy camera, however. The night vision works and also the motion detection. I had to turn off the motion detection because I have the camera positioned over my parking spot facing the street so it beeps at every motion. All and all it does what it is supposed to do with no issues so far. ... show more

  • Excellent Night Vision and Picture Quality
Style: C3WN-1080P
We have this located at a mountain cabin and use it to see the weather conditions when we are at a different location. We have an older model that shows the roadway access but use this one to look toward the forest. The picture quality is excellent and much better than the old one and the sound is good also. The night vision is excellent also. There was a recent snowfall at the cabin and last night the moon was out, and you could see good detail in the forest with the reflection of the moonlight off the snow at a distance of 1,000+ feet from the camera. ... show more

  • the optics are great…but…
Style: C3WN-1080P
The optics are great; the interface takes some getting used-to but after a while is okay…what is absolutely the worst feature of this setup is that when (not if) the wi-fi/camera link is interrupted the reset procedure requires the pushing of a button ON THE CAMERA !! This may be okay for ground level cameras on a nice weather day ( but make sure it is a dreary overcast day because the reset requires observing a micro tiny super dim LED that is mounted behind a shiny/reflective glass (with a lot of glare) and is nearly impossible to work with. Other than this for$30+ it isn’t the worst buy, just know up front that resetting it is a chore. Also, motion detection is very sensitive, even when adjusted, senses snow flakes, sound is terrible, there are terribly annoying sounds triggered by the wind, I have BLINK cameras as well, they provide normal sound for the most part. ... show more
