  • Great looking and rugged eBike good for larger people
Size: 15AH
I've owned this bike for 3 weeks now and here are my initial impressions after about 20 miles worth of riding. Assembly: The written instructions aren't very good. The steps given to assemble the bike are extremely vague and leave out whole parts of assembly. I found the assembly video included in the Amazon page for this bike to be more helpful. On the plus side, the bike comes with every tool you need to put it together, which is a nice plus! A couple tips for assembly: In the box, the front fork has a metal rod with two nuts on it bracing the ends where the front wheel goes. This rod is just for shipping and can be discarded, the manual does not mention this, so I kept wondering what this was for. The instructions also tell you to insert the axle on the wrong side of the bike. The quick release lever on the front axle needs to be opposite the side with the disk brake. Also, the LCD screen was mounted upside down on my handlebars when I got it. This is probably just done to save space in shipping but it's not obvious that you need to rotate it before installing the handlebars. Assembly is much easier if you watch the video and look at photos online. Take your time and have help. The hardest part to do with one person is mounting the front wheel, you really need help. Initial Impressions: The bike looks AWESOME! Better in person even than the pics show. This bike will get you attention both when riding and when parked. That might not always be a good thing because if you leave this bike unattended, be sure to have a good lock as it's going to attract people even if they don't know it's an eBike. A couple of the stickers are unnecessary, like the GOOD LUCK sticker on the rear swingarm. I also though the plastic fenders look cheap and even though they come premounted, they were crooked and I could never get them to be straight, so I just removed them. The bike looks cooler without them anyway. The headlight is BRIGHT!!! When riding at night, it easily lights up the entire width of a residential street and casts light a good 30 feet or more ahead of you. It's not as bright as a car light, but certainly brighter than just an average high power LED flashlight. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read while moving. Instead of a battery meter, it has an energy meter whose purpose is not clear. After a while, it starts to dip down, but then it goes back up again, so I'm not sure what's up with that. Some eBikes have a color LCD screen, but I actually prefer the monochrome look of this one as I think its easier to read in bright sunlight than a color LCD would be. I am 5'10" and about 270 lbs, and found the bike to be very comfortable. The front suspension in the fork is very good and dampens bumps, as do the fat tires. Going over small bumps in a sidewalk or over a small hole is nicely dampened. I was concerned I wouldn't like a bike if it didn't also have rear suspension like some more expensive bikes do, but it hasn't been an issue so far. I also like that this bike has a wider wheelbase than most regular 26" bikes. My old bike which was about 15 years old had a wheel base that was about 3 inches shorter and that difference made me feel like I was always sitting on top of the bike. On this bike, the wheelbase makes me feel more like I'm "in" the bike". The stock seat is surprisingly comfortable. I still might replace it, but it's not nearly as bad as the stock seats on some cheaper bikes. I've had this bike for 3 weeks and haven't felt an immediate need to rush out and replace it. The controls all work nice, although I find it kind of strange that only the right Shimano shifter has numbers 1-7 on it. The shifter on the left has just a + and - scale with no numbers. It's not a big deal, but just a little weird. The cell phone holder is neat and it does hold my Samsung Galaxy smartphone, but only on the sides. I don't know that I would feel comfortable leaving it on there on a long ride. If I was going to use it, I would want one that cradles the phone on the bottom and the sides, and not just the sides. Hand grips are very comfortable and both sides have a palm rest which is very much appreciated. The throttle lever is in a decent position, although I find that it gets in the way of the shifter sometimes. Performance: I went with this bike because of it's top speed and 750 watt motor. I wasn't expected a motorcycle, but I wanted something that could get up and go and this bike does a good job of that. It's worth noting though that I've never once been able to reach the claimed top speed of 34 mph. Riding around town, with the bike in the fastest mode, holding down the throttle for at least 30 seconds, I can get it up to about 27-28 mph. I was able to hit 30 mph once, but that required me to duck my head down and hunch down with my body close to the frame and hold down the throttle for at least a good 45 seconds or more. I assume the 34 mph speed could be hit with a rider who weighs less than I do and is smaller. I don't mind though, because even 27-28 mph on a bicycle is very fast. If you hit something or crash at that speed, you're going to be messed up pretty bad, so I'm ok with it not hitting 34 mph. The brakes did need adjustment out of the box, but that's expected of ANY mail order bike. Once I had the brakes adjusted, stopping power, even going full speed was adequate. You're not going to stop on a dime, but I feel they're sufficient for a bike this size plus my 270 lbs of weight on it. One thing about the brakes are that they're LOUD and squeak all the time. I have never had disc brakes on a bicycle before, so this might be normal, and its certainly not a deal breaker, but in addition to this bike's looks turning heads, the loud squeals it makes each time you stop will also attract attention! One area that I do have some concern though is battery life. The claimed 65 miles in PAS mode and 32 miles in pure electric mode feel like a fantasy. I've only put 20 miles on the bike since I've owned it and I've had to charge the bike multiple times. I notice that after a couple miles, the Energy Meter on the LCD starts to decrease and when it does, the power of the motor starts to feel sluggish. I am not sure if the motor or battery pack needs time to break in or whatever, but if I'm needing to recharge the battery to be able to use it's full power after only 2-3 miles, that's concerning to me. Don't get me wrong, I have no need to go 65 miles on a single charge, but I'd expect more than I've been getting. I will give it a couple months and then come back here and update this review if this changes. Neither Good Nor Bad: The fat tires look great, offer good traction on pebbles and grass, and help soften road bumps for large people like me, but on pavement are quite loud. There is a lot of road noise, especially over 20 mph. People will hear you coming from quite a ways a way. All tires are going to make some noise, but the ones here are pretty loud, this on top of the squeaky brakes make for a bike you'll never sneak up on anyone with. The electric motor is quiet, at least quieter than the tires, but I do hear a buzzing/vibration while accelerating around 15 mph. It goes away if you go faster or slower than that, but only when accelerating. Not sure if this is normal or if something is out of adjustment. A minor nitpick about the Pedal Assist mode, is that turning it on and off is a little too abrupt. Any time you start to pedal with it on, it seems like it wants to get you up to speed quickly. Maybe this is how all 750 watt motor bikes are, but I think a little more gradual acceleration would be nice. Also, and this is very minor, I actually wish there was a speed slower than P1. As it is, P1 gets you up to about 12 mph. If you're pedaling in P1 mode, the bike will always want to go that fast. I wish there was a P0.5 mode that would get you up to something like 8-9 mph when I want to go at a leisurely pace or need to keep up with small children on bike rides. Final Word: Overall, I love this bike. It looks awesome, it is comfortable, has good ergonomics, riding at speeds over 20 mph on a bicycle are exhilarating, the suspension and stock seat are more than up to the challenge of a 270 lb rider, and the bike has good performance. Assembly will take you some time, and the included instructions suck, but I love that they included all the tools you need to put it together. Watch the video on Amazon and look at many pictures to figure out where things go. The tires and brakes are noisy, but I can get over that. Although I have a few nitpicks of the bike, I dont think its anything worth lower than 5 stars! ... show more

  • Great ebike for the price
Size: 15AH
So I was debating on getting a roadbike or ebike for work transportation. I live 5 miles from work in green bay. Came across this and pretty much checked all my wants in a ebike. Got the bike and only have a couple gripes with it. 1. I can only get about 12 miles on a charge, that's with pedaling and using the throttle. So definitely not getting 32 miles on a full charge. Next, the seat is super uncomfortable. But easy fix. Average speed is about 25 mph consistently. Only few times I saw 30+. My model also came with a cracked headlamp and cut wire to the headlamp controller. Ended up buying super bright led front and rear lights for $20. Last thing, is the chain likes to hop off the main sprocket alot when hard pedaling. My chain guard is all chewed up now due to it. Other than all that, it's great, it's fun, and great option if you have a short commute to work or school. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and fast
Size: 15AH
Solid bike for the cost so far. It's a heavy beast as stated in the description. You can really get moving on this thing. I use it to and from work 5 days a week(6 miles rt.) I charge it 3 out of 5 just to have max power. With peddling it will go all week I think. The manual says charging at 75 percent for full power is ok so I do . I lost the manual and can't find the exact one online so far. So if there is one I'd love the link. ... show more

  • Battery life
Size: 15AH
This bike is great in terms of feel and putting together but the battery life on this bike drains very quickly I was hoping a 4 hour limit in terms of battery life. It’s very annoying if you wanna make deliveries. The bike is very fast and I love it but damn the battery dies quick even on 3 mode.
