I live in Southern Nevada where the sun is stupid hot and beaming down on the sidewalls of car trailer that don't get a lot of use, these have definitely helped protect my tires from the Nevada sun and heat. These did the intended job, which was to shield the tires from the elements. There is a bit of fading after one season, but this is not unexpected. What disappointed me is that the elastic that holds the cover on the tire degrades to useless after one winter season. This is not an issue for the tires on the ground, but the cover which used to hug the spare tire snugly was in danger of just blowing off without being secured by some other means, as the original elasticity of the cover has been completely lost. In my case, I only needed to protect two tires on one side, and the spare tire, and so I still have one unused cover. I will probably take the "good" cover and use it on the spare tire when travelling so that it will look nice, but for storage, put the good one away and put one of the faded, zero-elastic covers on just for protection. ... show more

I have a small, two wheel, utility trailer and wanted to protect the wheels and tires from the elements. UV light will degrade the tire rubber and rot the valve stems over time. Since your trailer isn't used that often, it sets in the same spot day after day. The sun will eventually take its toll if the tires are not protected.
