These little discs of soil must be nutritious, as my plants seem to be enjoying them. Easy to set up just add a little bit of water and mix it up. I haven't noticed any odd smells or mold and the drainage seems to be fine.

Last year I grew strawberries in some coco coir and they all dried out, so I was a bit concerned about using it again. I tried these because I have arthritis hands and they looked easy. And they are! Two & 1/2 cups of warm water in a bowl and POOF! enough soil to fill an 8" pot. I'll let you know in a month if my plants like it, lol. :~) ... show more

UPDATE: It was the seeds that had the gnats! Yuck! Seller refunded my money before I could update the review. My sincere apologies for the negative review. Soil was great. I've had an aerogarden for about a year without problem. I bought this product to grow sunflower sprouts and kept the sprouts near the aerogarden light. Within a week there were gnats everywhere. Dont buy this product unless you have a venus fly trap, then you can feed it the gnats. ... show more

I hated dealing with pests inside miracle gro soil for my indoor gardening so i decided on this alternative. It says to add 3 cups of water to one disc but I think 2 1/2 cups is much better as I often had leftover water. It looks less then described in terms of how much 'soil' you get but I can attest that the quality seems great. I planted Thai basil, pumpkin, Sage, Mountain Mint, Lavender, Catnip, Parsley and Cilantro. Looking to see how it turns out. ... show more

Arrived quickly, packaging could be a bit better, mine came with plastic cut open in a burlap bag so during shipping it started rubbing & busting loose soil all inside burlap...kind of a mess however using product itself is very easy and fun & easily done indoors as well. So money not wasted & I would purchase again. Would be perfect for kids too!!! I planted seeds today so I will update on how they grow in the pots. ... show more

I got this product as a beginner in growing my own produce. And the soil is of good quality. I made a giant mess, and yet no pest insight. It was easy to use. The price could be cheaper but recommended. You won't regret it.

IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS GOOD AND HOLY, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!! I didn't, and haven't had this much of a mess since my first colonoscopy prep. USE A BOWL. A BIG BOWL. PREFERABLY OUTSIDE. As for how well it works, I'll let you know how well my tomatoes like it after a week or so.
