Ok yes- I am officially that cat parent. We got this on a whim- the cat actually enjoys this! Our cat weighs 8 lbs and he fits fine. 10 lbs would be too small. This is a great bag to make your cat an additional workout when you walk around the block. Upside - the cat likes it! Well ventilated- don’t need worry about him getting too hot when the weather is nice. Great core and posture workout. Great emergency carrier!! We have our cats regular carrier on one level of our home and this one on the other. Downside. The front does scratch. Taking off the protective layer wasn’t super easy. Mine had a big scratch about 7 to 8 inches long right down the middle front of the plastic bubble and other spots of damage on it too i checked the plastic wrap on it which was obviously replace poorly back on the bubble and it had no cuts on it nor did the overwrap plastic so it had this big scratch before the wrapped it and shipped it it was probably a return. other than that it looks cool but has flaws it has an inner back panel that is not shown or mentioned that has to be unzipped from the inside to allow your cat to use the fold down back and it does not have any stays in it as it looks like it does to keep its shape at all and it really needs them think like a tent you set up with those flexible plastic stays that keeps up the tent yeah this doesnt have any of those so when you unzip open the fold out mesh area its just flopy mesh fabric so very hard to rezip up specially with a cat in it. the zipper on the little too small door on the side is not on the top as shown in the pix but is on the bottom so its virtually impossible to open part way to put your hand in to reach your cat for any reason like comfort them. so only the flimsy not hard bubble is the only stiff part to give it shape that back and bottom have carboard in them but the bottom is folded for shipping in such a way that its folded and never really goes flat like it should. the fan which you have to buy seperately is nice. its way overpriced for what you get functionally and quality wise. if i didnt like its looks and my cat didnt like going into it i would have sent it back for a refund so now i am spending a lot of time and more money figuring out ways to improve it like gluing in a flatter sturdier floor and finding ways to make the tent part stay up and keep its shape etc etc also it has only one hand handle on the top front for carrying and when your cat is inside with the back open the whole thing cat and all slides back to the back of the tent not good. tried the back pack method its built for a small child the cross strap was not on my torso but around my neck! and leaves only room for the smallest kitten so if you have a kitten and a child using it then its probably ok with lots of supervision there is an annoyingly hanging clasp to attached to a harness which i highly recommend using. ... show more

I did not purchase this for myself but for my ten year old daughter. She saved her money because wanted something to take her kitten places... I though the idea initially to be naive, but allowed her to purchase this bubbly space ship-esque cat carrying book bag with the money she saved. Not only is it a carrier, but it folds out into something reminiscent of a mosquito net tent and has a dangling hook for a leash that doubles as a kitty speed bag for endless kitten boxing training sessions. I thought a cat would be terrified to ride in a bag like this, I mean I would be… On the contrary the cat seems to love it. When the bag is left on the floor with the door open, the cat will go in and out of the bag and even sometimes naps in it. If my daughter attempts to go towards the bag the cat will run and get into the bag in anticipation of going somewhere. Its strange to me but the happiness it brings my daughter as well as the entertainment it brings me is well worth the cost. Did I mention that the materials and the construction of the bag is on par with some of my military gear?.. (with the exception of the clear bubble only because I have nothing to relate it to). ... show more

I ADORE this travel bag. I trained both my cats to use the backpacks and originally had a covered one with a window and upgraded to this one. My cat loves the see through window and if I show both backpacks to them she will willingly go in the clear backpack. There are only two faults this backpack has: beware if you have a bigger cat as the window flap on the side is SMALL. I have a medium sized cat and while she still passes through it, it is pretty small. The second fault is that the plastic can scuff very easily so be sure to take care of it. It is on the cheaper end but I will be sure to replace again once we bang up this current bag. *Disclaimer: You do need to actively train your cats to use this bag. I recommend leaving the backpack in the living room with the tent set up and leaving treats in there. It lets them get used to the bag and not associate it with a potentially scary trip. * ... show more

My daughter spent her Christmas money on this for her 7-month-old kitten. He is 9 lbs. already. She now rides her bike with him on her back, protects him from Grandma's dog in it, takes him out for walks with us and the dogs. He will climb in it when she leaves it open on the floor. I was skeptical, but am thrilled to see how much they both love it. He can lie down inside comfortably and yet see out of the plastic all the way to the bottom of the bag. Some of the other styles look really cool, but the cat must be up to look out the round bubble. "Boots" likes that he can see out so well. FYI--the bag smells like new product and needs to be aired out for the health of those breathing the fumes. We let it sit in the garage open for a few days and it is better now. ... show more
