  • Great once assembled
Size: 18 Inch
Cons: it took me 50 minutes to assemble. Pros: No cuts or ripped clothes. Take your time with it. After your 3rd or fourth nail, you’ll find your pace. I didn’t need any other tools, other than what came with it. Does a good job poking holes in the grass and dirt. Once your done with it, it’ll be a nice anti-zombie medieval weapon. ... show more

  • Good Aerator but difficult to assemble
Size: 18 Inch
I had this assembled by a competent person. He had trouble with the provided nut driver. During assembly, it stripped and fortunately he had a 8 mm deep well socket which finished the job. He mentioned it was easy to get scratched by the nails. The aerator works great once it's all together and hopefully will last a long time. The company provides extra nails if some get damaged during aeration so be sure to keep your packaging. ... show more

  • Simple yet effective
Size: 18 Inch
First off, the assembly is fine and easy, it’s not horrendous like other reviews have stated. Very simple and straight forward, took about 20 minutes. Secondly, it works amazing if you use it properly, which means add some weight in the roller as these types of tools work with weight. I suggest either watering your yard or waiting until after it rains to use this as the ground will be moist and this will work significantly better and easier. Using it on dry hard soil is the wrong way to use these manual aerators. And thirdly, no it’s not meant to be easy peasy, you’re going to put a little work in, but that’s the reality of a manual tool like this. And lastly, yes the spikes are sharp so obviously it can hurt you, handle and store it with care and you’ll be fine. ... show more

  • Assembly is terrible
Size: 22 Inch
The Allen keys provided for this product are terrible and deteriorated after two nails.

  • Overpriced, Problem parts, locking Pins gone on first run
Size: 18 Inch
The assembly was wildly frustrating as a result of defective locking nails. They included just enough extras to make it work, but it was annoying to have about every third threaded nail reveal being stripped only after fiddling it into place, and now I have no spares. The screws provided for a fixing the handle to the bow shaped piece that attaches to the aerator are so short you cannot add a nut on the other end for security. That seems like a design flaw, for something that is meant to be pushed and have force applied. They provided three locking pins to fix the bow shaped piece to the projections on either side of the aerator. Both popped out and are gone in my first 15 foot run. I’m so tired of products that require you go to the hardware store to compensate for design deficiencies. This could have been easily remedied with larger, more secure locking pins… that I now have to go buy with more money because they were not included and the flimsy ones that were provided are somewhere in my yard. For all my griping this seems to work as intended. Know what you’re getting into. Even though I did my due diligence and pre-purchased the sand to fill the unit, It took about 90 frustrating minutes to assemble and is probably going to take another 90 going to the hardware store and back before I have a working item. ... show more

  • Even better than expected!!
Size: 18 Inch
I didn't even know these existed until I saw a landscaper using one. This was the most expensive one but reviews seemed better than the couple of other options out there. It took a few min to assemble but was not hard at all. It comes with a canvas bag to fill with sand for weight... I used stones and it works perfect! I thought I would need to add more weight to it but it works amazing the way it is! It feels very durable and solid. So much easier for small patch areas or along fence lines vs. attaching the hitch to my mower and towing my huge one around for smaller or tight areas. I'm already seeing germination from the seeds I planted. Would recommend for sure!! ... show more

  • My aerator came with an incorrect handle piece, tedious assembly
Size: 22 Inch
My unit shipped with an incorrect handle piece. When you receive this aerator, it's disassembled, and you have to put it together yourself. The package provides an inventory of parts, and I was able to check off the parts. Assembly is time-consuming and tedious. When I put in all the spikes (the lengthy, tedious process) - it took over an hour - I learned that they had shipped a wrong handle piece, and I couldn't use the aerator. After all that work, this company's quality control failed me horribly. What a frustrating experience, I did all that work only to learn the vendor doesn't have very good quality control. ... show more

  • Good first run.
Size: 18 Inch
I bought this because my lawn has gotten very compact and the back is a patchy mess. I have tried 4 seasons to rent a motorized aerator, but the landscapers always beat me to it (and break them!) So bought this for the price of a 1/2 day rental. Down side: It took ~1 hour to assemble. Stripped the Allen key by the second to last row from screwing so many times in. Upside: I just finished doing my entire .45 acre lawn in 1:20 hours, (after a rain storm) including going over some sections extra times. My backyard is full of submerged rocks, which the tines survived. With a little pressure and 4 pounds of sand, tines seemed to sink in all the way. Other: It takes some effort, a “farmers” workout. Makes plenty of holes, which would be V shaped if seen from a cross section. Will have to see if 2 inch deep holes are good enough. ... show more
